The winch arrived as promised. It arrived with all the items to make a fast installation, all the hardware was included. I wished that the battery disconnect switch was included, I had to wait to the following weekend to hook up the winch. I tested the winch with a battery pack and it worked really fast. It is very comparable with the Harbor Freight winch, but for a lot less money. The winch is made in China, but don’t think it is cheaply made, it very comparable to the more expensive units made in our Country. The housing is made of strong material, the winch has some items that can be improved for example the square nuts that attach the winch to the winch plate, I wish they would be stronger, it’s 13,500 pounds and I believe that would be the weak point. I purchased separately the cut off switch and I also purchased separately the online 300 amp fuse which I installed close to the battery for protection. The online fuse was from Amazon Sigandg in line 300 amp fuse. ... show more

Arrived packaged well and in perfect shape, hardware complete. Instructions could have been a bit more in depth and definitely BIGGER so an old guy could read it...but otherwise no complaints. The worst part was the four square nuts ya put in the bottom before setting the winch. Took a few tries of having them dropping out before I got smart and put a dab of silicone on each one to hold them in place. From there, install was a breeze. Positive cable could be a little bit longer but I made it work. Haven't actually used it yet, I haven't even pre-tensioned the line yet...but she's powered and does run the line in and out. Really like the magnetic hook and fairlead. May be a bit overkill on a Wrangler JL but for $409.00 I'm very happy with it. ... show more

I should give Xbull a 5 star and the only reason I am not is because my first one was wired backwards during assembly. The black wire was where the yellow wire was and needless to say I almost lost my 2021 Jeep with 5000 miles and my house. Besides the panic attack trying to get it disconnected while it was smoking was difficult. I wont go into detail but both wires had to come off battery to stop the mess. In any event, after that happened I read some blogs on winches and this is something that happens when wired wrong. The solenoid cooks. I was so pi$ed that I wrote XBull a nasty email. They responded withinn 8-10 hours with true concern and wanting to make it right. I figured I would give them the option to do so. Since most brands farm out to china for their products, and even if it was built in my backyard in the US this problem could have happened anywhere with any brand I bought. Well, I received the new one and tested it first out of the Jeep with fire extinguisher, pot holders and sockets nearby this time and it just clicked. I realized it had to be bolted to the bumper and grounded with bolting and once I did that it works as it should. I am really pleased with the product and it seems like it will work well. The only problem with this one is it did not come with any directions. I will update if anything changes. I want to get a disconnect for the battery but have not really seen anything that just seems simple. After what happened last time, I will never forget that. I just hope I have my wires run good and they dont rub. I am pretty sure I do, I removed the air intake and installed a K&N at the same time. Just make sure your wire locations are right from the factory by looking online at photos and whatever else. the directions on the first one didnt really say anything about it. ... show more

XBull customer service team came through! Great service! After reading my review I was contacted by Xbull to see if there was any way to help and if I could provide them with more details. The team was very curious about the unit I received and wanted to know every detail to make sure it didn’t happen again. I was glad they contacted me and was more than willing to help. After several conversations spanning over a few days Xbull decided that they should send me a new winch to replace the faulty one I had received 6 weeks prior. Even Warn didn’t bother to help me when their winch broke. After receiving the replacement winch it took me about an hour after delivery to remove the faulty unit and install the new one. Night and day difference in sound and performance. The battery draw was about 25% less than the faulty unit too. I tested it and confirmed everything under load. Works amazing. I’ve now used it about a dozen times in the last 2 weeks and it works just as well as the day I received it. The first one was half dead after a handful of uses, and even on the first use wasn’t nearly as strong as the replacement unit. I’ve been a customer for 5 years now. I will definitely be staying with XBull. Below is my initial review when I unknowingly received a faulty unit. Initial review: Works well enough for a few sticky situations. Then it gets really loud and noticeably weaker. Motor just doesn’t last. It’s definitely not 13,500 pounds even if you’ve only got 10 feet of line out. Especially if it’s been used to pull your rig out a dozen times. Gets louder and louder from the motor/gears every time you use it. This is my 4th xbull winch. Every time XBull releases a new winch they seem to fix one problem at a time. So I was hoping this winch wouldn’t have issues. It does sadly. The remote is ok so long as you are standing really close and pointing right at the winch. Having a spotter use the wireless remote from more than 10-15 ft away gets hard from the interference. ... show more
