Overall, we are so far, happy with this purchase and product. We purchased it to increase our winter activity since the snow and ice make it difficult with our various bodily issues. Specifically, I bought this help my wife continue to rehab her knee in preparation for her eventual knee surgery and to continue to rehab my back after surgery. Pros: 1. was super easy to set up out of the box. The bar was a bit tricky to get to stay sturdy, but once we figured out the knobs, it stays put. 2. It is very compact and light. This makes it easy to pick up and slide under the bed when company comes over. Equally easy to pull back out and set up. 3. Simple to use. Nothing is complicated, just turn it on, use the remote to start it up and adjust the speed. There's no programming to setup or change, just adjust the speed and let the display cycle thru the various stats. 4. Good range of speeds. I can get up to a light jog and it doesn't feel like the machine struggles. 5. Smooth starts and stops. No jerking or awkward slow downs. 6. Noise levels are what I would call average. It's definitely not louder than any machine I've used in the past. It's noticeable but we easily hold conversations and listen to podcasts or the tv without any issues Cons: 1. The bar is too short to use for any real support. Making it adjustable would a huge improvement. 2. The pad itself is a bit short. It's too short for my natural stride by just a few inches. I am 5'6" with what I feel is a natural stride for my height and I am either catching my toes on the front plastic lip or flipping out over the rear roller. This makes jogging very difficult unless I actively concentrate on shortening my stride. It means more steps and potentially a more intense workout, but it also means balance and concentration are affected and I can't just zone out. 3. Also it's about 4 inches too narrow. Any deviation from the center has my foot catching on either of the rear belt guards. This makes balance tricky at times. But as my wife points out, it does force good posture and stride awareness. Overall, we are happy, particularly when we facture in the cost. It's works out to about what we would spend on a gym membership to use the same basic machine. We routinely use it for about 2 hours between us every day for the last couple weeks. So if we get more than six months of use from it, we are coming out ahead. If we get less than 6 months, I'll be back to update my review.
