  • Fits perfectly, easy installation
I bought this muffler to replace the corroded factory muffler on my 2008 Tundra with 165,000 miles on it. The new muffler was no problem to install. All the hangers line up perfectly with no bending and fit the the stock rubber hangers with no problems. The flanges are angled perfectly and line up with the existing exhaust sytem just like the original. The material the muffler is made of is listed as stainless steel and it is magnetic which would seem to indicate a Ferritic alloy of stainless with little or no nickel, typical of what is used on car exhausts. The mufler itself is smaller than the stock unit and the overall weight is several pounds less than the stock muffler. I am sure the sound is not identical to the stock muffler, however my ear cannot detect a difference. The noise level seems to be almost identical to the original, but it is hard to tell from the drivers seat. It certainly is not louder than stock and if anything the Walker muffler is a bit quieter. There does not seem to be any difference in performance - neither better nor worse. Also driveability is not impacted in any manner that I can detect. The muffler came by truck from a shipping company located out of town but the delivery process was excellent with the shipper actually calling to see if they could deliver earlier than promised. Someone had to be home to sign for the part but otherwise no issues. The gaskets do not come with the muffler but were available from Amazon; I ordered them the same time as the muffler and they arrived a few days before the muffler. The gaskets fit with the new muffler just fine and I could not detect any leaks once everything was back together. The only problem I could see a do-it-yourselfer running into would be removing the flange bolts to get the old muffler off (I have an impact wrench so it was no problem) or breaking the original exit end pipe clamp when removing it. The original exhaust clamp seems kinda soft and malleable and I would recommend buying a new exit end pipe clamp to replace the existing one. Otherwise no issues with this item. To purchase an original Toyota muffler from the dealer would have cost $500 plus shipping. This muffler is about a quarter of that price so it if lasts more than 50,000 miles I will have certainly gotten my money's worth. ... show more

  • Good fit
I was not expecting this to be an improvement. Pleasant surprise. Ohh, what videos on the install. Easy overall but the channel lock trick on the rubber hangers would have saved.me time.

  • What it fits
The Walker 56209 Quiet-Flow muffler does fit a 2007 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L engine but will only work with the 146" Wheel Base NOT the 127" and the 165" Wheel bases. In other words it will fit on the wrong application but will not line up with tail pipe without additional work. The 127 " is the 2 door, the 146" the double cab short bed, and the 165" the double cab long bed. 2007-2009 Expect shipping to take 3-4 weeks, this is falsely advertised as Prime and I assure it is not. Ordered mar. 16th received apr 9th. The exhaust muffler is OK, it is low grade stainless muffler and aluminized pipe., pretty much your only choice other then the dealer. • Fits like OEM - no adjustments needed
While I ended up buying this online from another store due to price, the price on amazon was the same for the muffler (just higher for the tail pipe). I purchased this for my 2008 5.7l V8 Toyota Tundra. My muffler had rusted out where the tail pipe and muffler connect. Plus the bracket that connects the muffler and tail pipe had broken too. Thanks to the chemicals we use on our roads here on the east coast mid-Atlantic region, the bolts had all rusted on and were seized. While this job would be much easier if I had a lift, I used my creeper to get under my truck and used a cut wheel on a grinder to sheer off the bolts. The trick is (if you don't want to have to replace the midpipes) is to grind off the bolt on the muffler side then hammer out the bolt. This should leave the original plate to attach to on the mid pipe side. I had to use vise gripe pliers to twist off some of the bolts as I hammered them up. You could probably torch off the bolts but since I was upside in a cramped space I didn't want to use a torch. The pipes lined up easier and I used stainless 12mm bolts (x4) to connect the two pipes. You'll need 4 stainless nuts - I used locking nuts to be safe. I gave the product 5 stars as the OEM is definitely much more well made but you are going to pay for the extra quality. The OEM lasted 128k miles and about 9 winters. This will hopefully last the same. The hangers lines up well too. Just put a bit of silicone lube for rubber on the hole to make it easier to slide through. ... show more
