This was the cheapest rod I saw on here that could replace my old spinner in a cost affective, fast way. However, this rod combo is not something you want to take out for the monsters. It has been great for trout, goldeye, and 3-4lb. bass. This combo will not do well with big catfish or carp. I have now caught 23 fish this year with it and I am impressed with how it has held up. The rod is still in great shape but the reel is starting to jam up and not wanting to keep tension(again cheap combo but good deal for the money) on the drag. Wrong Wrong color got out instead of gold . Good reel for the price but the string should be separate . I did have to untangle it a few times but overall good . Would suggest getting new line when buying so it won’t tangle or drop the reel in warm water and string won’t tangle anymore .

Bought a pair of these for myself and my 11 year old. Comes with 6 lb line ready to use. Casting is smooth and the reel brings the lure back in! What else can you ask for. We have ponds and a large lake nearby so these fit the bill. I'd say absolutely spend more money for deeper waters and more professional applications.
