This is the third Wahl trimmer that I've owned. The first one was great and eventually died after years of use. This is the second trimmer that I have had to throw in the trash because of broken teeth on the trimmer head. The teeth break if you frequently change the guards on the trimmer. They are VERY FRAGILE. I had this last trimmer for about 3 weeks before the teeth broke!! I'm very disappointed. I like the power of the trimmer, but the quality is very low. The problem is, if the teeth break, you can cut yourself badly. I didn't realize that the two of the teeth on the trimmer head were broken and I used the trimmer without any guards. I cut my chin badly and had to put a butterfly bandage on it for a several days to heal up. I probably should have gotten a couple of stitches, but I live in the mountains in Colorado, and don't have anywhere near me to go for emergency medical care. Wahl is going to get sued by someone who cuts themselves the way I did, if they keep making crap like this. I'm not an old guy with frail skin either. I'm 35, extremely fit, professional firefighter and paramedic. DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK. IT WILL BREAK AND HURT YOU!! ... show more

    • Nose trimmer dead on arrival, mustache beard trimmer is OK.

I was glad it came with a nose trimmer since I get annoyed by nose hairs, but the nose hair trimmer does not function at all. Dead on arrival=nose hair trimmer. The beard/mustache trimmer works ok but; 1. Can't tell when it's done charging; the light stays red the entire times it is charging. When is it complete? No way of knowing. 2. When using the beard trimmer, if your finger or hand touched the power button, it turn is down or off while you are using it (too easy to move the button). If you pay really close attention then it won't turn off while you are using it. I rate it 2.5 out of 5 (but half stars are not possible). Including a nose hair trimmer that is garbage was a little frustrating. ... show more

My husband loves this because you can use it while it’s plugged in. He hates the kind that has to be charged in order to use. He has a very thick beard but likes to keep it short, at about two week’s growth. This trimmer does a great job.

This is my first mini-clipper / trimmer after using a full sized corded Wahl hair clipper for 15 years. The quality after about 10 uses is similar to the full size corded Wahl that we already have. The blades are robust and the switch is snug and secure when you turn it on and off. It's tight and has a heavy-quality feel to it. It came pre-charged and I haven't had the need to plug it in and re-charge it yet. (I hope this wasn't in the user instructions). I expect with the proper care like keeping it clean and lubricated it will last for years. The trimmer is easy to use and well balanced. Easy to do detail work like trimming that one wild hair that you get sometimes. It comes with a bunch of accessories that quite frankly I don't need and wouldn't have purchased separately. I would have paid the full price for just the trimmer and carry bag without the accessories. They are however a nice addition if you want to do more grooming than just trimming. ... show more

(UPDATE: it broke after dropping in the sink- at least it won’t pull the hairs out of my neck and face like a sadistic torture device anymore!)I’ve been buying these groomsman trimmers for 25 years. I’ve always had facial hair so I’ve regularly used this product. They generally last a few years before needing a replacement. So I’ve bought several of these. I bought this one in April of 2019 and at first, it seemed just as good as the previous ones, although it did feel lighter and more cheaply made. After a couple months, it started pulling at my beard hairs to the point where now it’s so painful to use, I feel like I’m using an Epilady on my face! It pulls and yanks out vs cuts smoothly now. Very painful! Blades went bad? Defective? I don’t know but it feels like I’ve gotten a cheap cereal box prize version of what once was a quality product. I follow instructions for lubrication and cleaning and charging and it’s gone from bad to worse. I’m deeply disappointed in the quality of this product now. ... show more

I use this thing all the time!! It's quiet and small enough to cut my 7 month old sons hair without any protest from him. Yet powerful enough to shave my dogs (1 akita and 2 Australian shepherds). Easy to clean and one charge easily gets through the 3 dogs. Just a delightful little shaver. I was hoping for a good unit, but this is not the one. I have been trimming my beard for over 15 years, and this is the first one that yanks the hair out. This is a nice and basic trimmer set. Don't be fooled by the chrome finish however, these units are light weight plastic, so they do feel a little cheap, but get the job done. For the price, no complaints.
