Update: so we’ve been using for a little while now and overall very happy with product still. All the features I mentioned below, connection has never been an issue and we have three levels. The only thing that has a slight issue is the notifications for sound and movement. I had turned them on but it is very sensitive and goes off a lot. It’s really not needed for my toddler so I turned them off but we still get push notifications through the app via WiFi even though we turned them off. Not the biggest deal in the world and still very happy with product— especially for price. Well to be fair we’ve only had this for a day— I will update this review if things change. We have a nanit but are expecting number 2 in a couple months. Did not want to pay that price tag but like the capability of Wi-Fi when we’re away. This unit went in my sons room and we’ll use the nanit in the baby’s room. Very easy to set up with WiFi and create an account with the app. Has all the same features I need, like two way talk, night vision, notifications for sound and movement. I love this - it’s not crazy fancy like some of the other systems out there, but I LOVE how big the handheld screen is. It’s much bigger than I expected it to be. I also love that if I leave that in another room, I can just check it out on my phone, which was super easy to connect. My only weird caveat is that the microphone is almost TOO sensitive. If the volume is up on the device (even if the screen is off), you can hear the dogs barking or people talking in the hallway and it’s almost like the house is echoing. I’ve learned to make sure the volume is turned all the way down before going into the room to get her up from her nap. For the longest time we couldn’t figure out where the echo was coming from 😂 ... show more

I bought this for myself in January for my baby due next week. I set it up when I received it and it was working great. About 2 weeks later it lost connection but I didn’t worry about it as there was still plenty of time to reconnect before the baby arrived. Fast forward to this week. (April 2024) and I’m getting everything finalized for my scheduled C-section next week. The camera will not pair with the parent unit. I have done all the troubleshooting available in my scope as well as tried everything the internet has to offer to try and fix it. I have called vtech 3 times and they have yet to be able to help me fix it. I’m 1 week outside of my Amazon return window and now I’m scrambling to find another baby monitor that will actually work. For the price of this unit I should have gotten much more than 2 weeks of usage and certainly better support for any issues. ... show more

I bought this I. April as a baby gift. Gave it to the mother to be in June. The baby was born August 2. They just opened the box and started using it around a month ago after baby was out in his own room. Now it has quit working. After 2 months of use. Going to see If limited 1 year warranty will cover the item. Will update again. ... show more

I’ve now used this monitor for 5 months ( baby is 5 months lol) and it’s great. I can take the dog outside to go potty and still have a connection to the monitor. I can allow people in the app and family can see her. The night vision works great. You can adjust the sensitivity of movement or sounds for the monitor to turn on as well. So when babys older you don’t get every movement only bigger ones. It’s overall amazing and I like that I can add more cameras as needed. I've had my first one for almost 3 years. The monitor dropped and broke the antenna and stand, but we just super glued it back on and it still works. When I had my 2nd baby we decided to get this one again to get the new monitor and just add the 1st camera to it. It was not clear that you cannot do that. So now I have 2 cameras and 2 monitors. There's a splitscreen option but it won't connect bc it had a monitor at one point. Customer service told me I'd have to buy a whole different camera to pair. Then I'd have 3 cameras and 2 monitors. Very frustrating. And I can't find the right model to buy to pair with it... ... show more

I like the double feature of being able to connect to wifi and disconnect from Wifi. You can use both the parent unit and your phone when connected to Wifi but you can only use the parent unit when disconnected from wifi which is still a bonus for me!

Pros: the wide screen view is nice Cons: The kickstand only works on a hard, flat surface. It can’t be propped up on the couch or bed. The screen takes a full 2 minutes to turn on and establish a connection. The device automatically turns on when it is plugged in. So then I have to wait 2 minutes to turn it off again. There is a delay between what is being shown and what’s actually happening. Panning around the room is difficult. I’ll tap the arrow button but the camera won’t move, so I’ll press it a little longer and then I’m looking at the ceiling. Very difficult to adjust in small increments. Not a usb-c charger. Must be connected to wifi. You technically can connect without it but the range is like 10 feet. The signal dropped when I left the room. ... show more
