The directory system essentially doesn’t work. If you try to look up number or try scroll through the directory listings, the whole system will crash and reboot, literally. This seemed like a quality product but dysfunctional. Initial setup seemed ok. Powered up, connected to bluetooth, down loaded phone book from cel. when finished, showed 69 contacts. This is where the good ends. Could not access phone book. Followed the included set up guide exactly, repeatedly. Set up guide directs to review phonebook entries press( "CID" + volume button + book image) Error messages, "base not powered" (it was), "not available", etc. Scrolling through menu it did not show phonebook but did show "directory" selecting directory gave "review" selected > blank screen. Tried online search, no manual but basically an FAQs that were aggravating to navigate and did not show many items related to search terms, consistently referring to different models even after repeatedly entering the correct model # vs112-4. Repeatedly! Tried using the phone # contact. Voice menu options referenced the those steps shown in the set up guide. Chose to speak to a person. Result, "long wait time", hold until "leave name and number for call back". Three hours later, no call back. Tried phone call again same options. decided to return item but post here to help someone else decide. ... show more

After adding all my contacts I realized I have to scroll through the list to find the contact I want to call. There is no shortcut as there was with my Panasonic.****After using the phone a while I figured ot how to get tho a contract without having to scroll through them. Not worth the money. Set these phones up in September of this year. I have to unplug the main set every other day in order for the dial tone to come back on. Emergency calls or any calls can’t get through because phones don’t work. By the time provider came to check lines and discover it was the phones, window to return expired. ... show more

I have owned at least four different V-Tech cordless phone sets in the last twenty five years and have loved them all. This one is the best one of all. Since my last one finally died I was very pleased at the quick delivery by Amazon. The phone is very handsome and easy to do the basic set up of all four handsets. The speaker is very clear and easy to hear. I have not yet ventured into the more sophisticated things that the phone can do such as connection with my cell phone. One of the main attractions of this phone is the call block button on the front of the handset. I love the white/silver handset after getting very tired of black ones. My only criticism is that the instruction sheet that was included does not cover the basics that the older sets did. I wanted more instructions on the directory set up i.e. how to add a space in the name area between first and last names, etc. Otherwise this is a beautiful and wonderful phone! ... show more

This (so far) is working out great. We needed to replace an existing cordless set. Although set up was to be guided through via the initial set up, for some reason that didn't work. I was able to read the instructions and figure it out. We needed an "old school" answering machine for elderly family members and this works well. The buttons are not large, nor easy to see, but I don't think you'll find anything else out there much better. The bonus was pairing with the cell phone via Bluetooth, which works out well. Although you must use a different button to answer via Bluetooth. All in all this works for what we needed. ... show more

No matter how many times I tried to download, remove, turn Bluetooth on/off, etc. The directory did not load properly. UPDATE as of 9/23/20: i have disconnected this set & put back my old Panasonic set! The directory never worked well, but even worse is that to search a name, the instructions tell you to simply scroll through every name to find the one you want. It's too bad; I bought this because it had a large screen, is louder and has back-lit numbers. ... show more
