This is my second time buying this headset, and that alone says everything. My first BlueParrott lasted 7 years of regular use, which is impressive for a Bluetooth headset. The sound quality is excellent, the microphone does an amazing job blocking background noise, and people on the other end always hear me clearly even in loud environments. It’s lightweight, comfortable to wear for long periods, and the battery life is solid. After getting so many years out of the first one, I didn’t even consider a different brand. Works great. The background noise cancellation Is fantastic! I can literally be driving down the road with the windows open on the freeway and the people on the other end of the call can't tell at all, even when asked. Of course, sporadic noise such as forklift beeps and sheet metal drops still go through, but the continuous background noise no matter how loud doesn't go through at all I can even be using a Rotary hammer drill into concrete and they can't hear anything. However I do have one large complaint. The voice controls is very annoying and apparently you can't turn it off when somebody calls. If I answer it directly from my phone by swiping answer on my phone the stupid headset is still saying "answer or ignore" while my phone shows it connected and if you don't answer fast enough it says "press NFD to answer" and no matter what button I push it doesn't answer and so the phone is sitting there connected and the people on the other end can't hear me until I catch it just right and I say answer. And I've searched through the documentation and the Internet and I have not found a way to turn the voice controls off at all. That is a major bug that made me unfortunately go to a Shokz headset, which doesn't have as good noise cancellation. ... show more

Now that I have used this headset in a Google Meet session, I can provide a good, factual review! Before the meeting began, I requested an audio report. I received a report of being distorted, indicating that I was driving it too hard. I tweaked the mic position further away from my mouth, and everything sounded excellent. Positioning the mic involves rotating the boom from above my eyes down to around my mouth and tweaking the mic's position by bending the flexible boom extension containing the mic on one end. Further positioning also involves placement of the headset on my head to position the mic where it needs to be. Recorded music from a music service sounds great in the earpiece. The meeting participants, of course, have varying audio quality, but were very readable, except when one participant was breathing on his microphone. Recording myself using Audacity sound recording software allowed me to discover that I could not adjust my microphone to breathe on it, a good thing to know. It took me a few attempts to connect Bluetooth to discover that I must hold the power button for two seconds to turn the power on, and two more seconds to pair the headset. My Android phone captured it while I was trying to pair it to my Linux computer's Bluetooth. I held the power button to re-enter pairing mode, allowing me to pair with the computer successfully. I have not used the BlueParrott button or software. The condition of this headset was like new, having been sold by another seller for less money. I see where I could have paid over $100 more from other sellers, as well. The headset is very comfortable to wear. It is well worth my investment to improve my experience on Zoom or Google meetings. ... show more

    • You're paying for a battery

I've bought 2 650 models now and they are the worst. I thought the first pair might have been a dud and couldn't return them so I bought another pair and had the same issues. Half the time if you end a call, instead of picking up where it left off on your music, it just disconnects. But not all the way. It's stuck connected but not playing anything and you can't shut it off to reset and reconnect it because the power button won't work. So while you're driving, you have to plug it in so it will shut itself off then you can turn it back on and reconnect. My co-driver has a 450 model and let me use it.... it's actually loud the way I thought the 650 should be. I can barely hear anything on mine. Turned up all the way, my 650 is maybe 30% loud on his headset. I also am told that no one can hear me. I have to slide the headset almost off my ear, and hold the mic to the point where I'm almost eating it to be heard at all. With no option to shut off the noise cancelling on the mic. And if you plan on wearing it all day, get ready for your eats to give you headaches. One side smooshes your ear to your head, and the other side will irritate behind your ear until just a little bit of sweat makes the rubber pad come off and then the bare plastic pad will also irritate your head. They have too many bugs to fix on this model. Don't bother until they do. Buy the 450, or just don't support this company. If this is the best and basically only headset company for truckers, buy anything else. They need to do better or go broke. Instead of pedaling this over priced crap. Quality-crap fit-crap ease of use- crap mic quality-crap app and controls-crap bluetooth-crap charging ability- crap Battery- the longest lasting. Is it worth it? I'll sell you both of mine for half the price and then you can tell me. I wouldn't take them if they were free. ... show more

Cancels very loud background noises and the volume goes up loud enough that you can actually hear! I drive truck in the oilfield, so I work around loud areas… I can hear and the person on the phone can hear me clearly without hearing all the noise on my end. I switched from RoadKing to BlueParrot and I’m glad I did. There are handfree options and the clarity is so much better!!! Definitely recommend and would give 10 stars if they let me ... show more
