Couldn't be happier with the purchase. Vortex, it turns out, is a solid company. I went to zero the dot after install and it was already on the money. Install was extremely easy due to the packaging the dot came in. The screws are labeled by brand, the tool included for everything dot related is metal and solid. After a period of use I had an issue with the dot losing a few lumenation settings. Instead of cycling through all of them I only was able to see the two highest and the lowest settings. I sent customer support a message directly through the Vortex site and they immediately emailed me a label to return the optic for service. Within a couple days they sent me a replacement. Even though I purchased through Amazon they still stood by the product. The green dot is sharp, the glass is clear, the mounting is stupid proof and the customer service is great. This is my second Vortex defender Micro First one I installed on a Glock 43X, I installed this on one my M&P 22X this time I went green dot and very happy. I plan on getting another one for my M&P22WMR.

    • Direct mount red dot no floor plate needed

I put this on a Glock 43X and fit directly without a mounting plate. The buttons are large to be able to manipulate with gloves on and the green dot is easier to see. Like with all red dots, max setting does give it the halo effect. I other high end red dots that do this too, so I wasn’t surprised when it did on max setting. Hangs off the slide a little but not a deal breaker. Had to turn up the brightness setting when shooting at the range and was sighted in after 3 volleys. It held zero after several drills. Approximately 200 rounds. I’ll update further after more trips to the range. Would recommend for the price and direct mounting feature. I can still use irons sights with this red dot and prefer this red dot over my 407k. ... show more
