Ordered 2 boxes, 6 lights each box. Very well packaged, but one box was missing the screw pack. I didn't use the screws that came with them, so no matter. I used 1 1/4" treated deck screws, 4 screws per base. More than necessary, but that's just me. They are made of plastic, and seem somewhat 'light duty', but assembled well and have held up well so far. I'm using the white colored light to match my other lights. The lights are brighter than expected, but not bright enough to pattern the ground from 36". Just a faint glow of light on the porch floor. They are perfect for capping my wooden deck rails. Very satisfied with these so far, and got them at a reduced price, which was even better. Volisun- please reduce the price of the taller version of these lights so I can buy some of those ; ) ... show more

I have 18 of these lights on my fencing and decks look great compact size rechargeable with minimal sun exposure some batteries didn’t last long and I replaced them. The lights can’t handle cold weather and snow falling down from the trees 3 of these lights have been smashed by falling snow. At about $6. Each I can replace them. The sellers are great during shipping one light was damaged with one email they sent me one as replacement and one extra for my troubles. Easy to remove with a quarter turn no tools needed maybe I’ll remove them during the winter months and bring them back in spring. ... show more

I rarely, if ever, write reviews, but felt that after a year of using these "solar" light caps I felt compelled to help others make a more educated decision before buying. Simply put, I purchased a dozen of these late last summer for my outdoor deck posts. At first they seemed great...inexpensive, easy to install and they worked well (initially). After a few weeks I noticed a few getting more and more dull, but living in the Chicagoland area, I disassembled them and stored them in my garage for the winter months. When I reinstalled them in the late spring I noticed some didn't work at all. I actually had two new ones left over in the box, so I replaced the two that weren't working anymore. One work great and the other "new" one didn't work at all. So now, I have a dozen lights that all have different levels of brightness or don't work at all. Not a good look. I tried emailing Amazon and the the company directly (which was a chore since their support page within Amazon doesn't give any contact info).....neither have responded. I have since installed string lights, that work much better, and will be replacing these caps with simple decorative versions as the lights just don't work anymore. We bought these post covers with lights for the deck of our new home that we are making ready for the vacation rental market. The posts came to a point at the top and two of them had started to rot at the point. Cutting off the points and installing these post caps was an inexpensive fix and adds ambiance and safety to the decks which were very dark at night. We are not currently at the property, had a contractor install the lights, so I cannot speak to the ease of installation. The posts on this deck are 6 x 6, there are 27 posts altogether as the deck wraps around to the front of the house. I did buy extra lights in case of a failure or future breakage. The photos show the results, which we are very happy with. I hope they last, I cannot speak to that yet. UPDATE: They haven’t lasted very well. We have a lot of deck, about 35 lights. Through the summer, probably eight or ten of them have have had the caps blow off in windstorms. Some of the other lights have gotten dimmer, so some lights are brighter than others. Not sure what I am going to do, I like this look, but need to search for a more reliable option. ... show more
