These lights were very easy to install as I just used Scotch Outdoor Adhesive, and so far they're staying up just fine. Screws are also included if you want to go that route. In terms of operation they work pretty well, on a bright summer day (with no clouds) they get enough power to stay on until 3am or so, which definitely isn't all night, but it's better than nothing. When it's cloudy they sometimes don't turn on at all, or they go off around 11pm- it really just depends on the day and how much light they get. My backyard is somewhat shady so that's also part of it, but I do wish they would stay on all night as they look really nice on the fence. They're technically for steps which I understand, but I'm using them more for accent lights rather than actually illuminating something. For steps they're plenty bright, and even mounted on the fence they allow you to see a bit of what's going on. As I said I do wish they lasted longer during the night, but I'm happy with them for now and I think they make my yard look much nicer when they're on. ... show more

I purchased these to put on the side patio fence of my villa. They work wonderful. I spaced them about 10 feet apart, and put a plant under each one. It looks great at night. It actually makes it look much bigger out there. The lights stay on almost all night, and are the perfect brightness. I was concerned about the Bufo Toads creeping in at night, as I have a small dog. At least now I can see them first, and I imagine they don't like the light. I did have to return the 1st set, as I was sent the step lights instead of the fence lights. It looked like they both use the same box with just a different sticker, so I can see how the Amazon warehouse made the mistake. ... show more

I have a lot of solar lights in my backyard and these are the only ones that make it through the night. They're not as bright as in the picture though and they're smaller because they're intended for steps, not for a tall fence. They're good for a higher fence too but they won't brighten the lower area. They're easy to install. They come with screws and the instructions with a print pattern for where the screws must go. I poked a hole through the print and made my score on the wood. It takes one minute to install each light. I would recommend these for steps and low fence. ... show more

The design is great it explands the light so it comes out like a fan. I have purchased a few of these this last few years for around a pool cage. We sold that home and now in our back yard. They last for a few years then you need to replace the battery. I have received a couple that were defective. You can return without and hassle. ... show more
