IDK why other reviews say these boxes are flimsy. I've ordered them multiple times and find them sturdy and exactly as described. I'm only giving 4 stars because the scoring on the edges you need to fold is not very deep, so I need to fold all of the sides multiple times before packing. It is just an extra step, but it is because the cardboard is actually quite thick. I'll be reordering these. ... show more

    • FLIMSY! I doubt this would pass ECT 32
With the increased cost of USPS Priority Mail shipping, I was looking for a way to cut some costs. I came across these 14x6x2 boxes and the dimensions of this box exactly falls in the 0.1 cubic feet USPS Priority Mail shipping tier. The boxes I've been using have been 14x4x4 and 14x6x4 and are in the 0.2 cubic feet tier (which is almost $1 more than 0.1 cubic feet from California to the East Coast where most of my customers are) so I was excited to find this 14x6x2 box here on Amazon. The vendors I buy boxes from don't carry this size. 2-stars for the box size but that's where the stars end. The cardboard used for these boxes, sadly, are quite thin. I only use ECT-32 to keep the weight down and what I ship isn't exactly fragile but with enough force, is breakable. Comparing all the ECT-32 boxes I've been using from a well known box vendor, these 14x6x2 boxes feel MUCH MUCH flimsier than those. The corrugated middle layer easily compresses when I barely pinch my thumb and index finger against it. REALLY REALLY cheap quality. Unless you're shipping anything that absolutely won't break -- like a stack of paper or fabric -- look elsewhere! You've been warned! UPDATE: I attempted to ship an item with this box anyways and after taping up the box, I was able to crush the edge of the box with one hand without a lot of force. There is no way this box will with stand a 32 lb box stacked on top of it. I've put the remaining 24 boxes in the recycle bin am eating this as a lost.
