Great stuff - got the blackout version and it blocks the light 100% wherever you put it. Love it. I got a new monitor a few months back, and have a high half-moon shaped window directly behind me in my front door, which faces west, so the sun was always glaring in on my computer screen every day for the few hours before sunset (except on super cloudy or rainy days). I have extremely light sensitive eyes, and even though my monitor has a glare-free coating, the glare has been brutal and headache inducing. (Plus, the anti-glare coating on modern monitors is not all that fabulous honestly - I miss the truly matte monitors of old that didn't cost multiple thousands of dollars like they do now.) Since this stuff was a SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper solution than getting a crazy expensive new monitor, I ran with it and am so glad I did. It is pure black almost all the time. I do have daylight LED light bulbs for nighttime, and that's when the rainbows show up beautifully on the inside. I don't know how well the rainbow/holo coating would work with regular incandescent or fluorescent lighting but it definitely shows up with your normal daylight LED light bulbs on in the evening. Mine are 4500 temperature range, maybe 5000? They aren't the soft 2700 or 3000 warmer temp ones - those ones drive me batty because my eyes see everything as "dingy" with them - probably due to my eye issues. Anyway so yeah these are fabulous but the holo/rainbow effect requires good indoor lighting to see it. Otherwise, it's just solid black but it absolutely does it's job of blocking out 100% of the light!! So simple. So effective. ... show more

Get THIS one! I have tried to apply this kind of film on my windows before and it was a total nightmare. And the results were awful. I have avoided the stuff ever since. When it looked like this was my only recourse I was totally expecting to fight with it for hours and walk away bested by the vinyl. I was very pleasantly surprised! This kit came with easy to follow instructions AND all the tools needed (except a soft cloth. I imagine that is pretty universally available). The instructions didn’t make sense to me when I first read through them but I followed each one step by step and HOLY COW!!! this took me less than an hour. And I LOVE IT!!! One thing Inwas worried about is the sidelights had frost etching (obviously not professionally done) on them. I was worried it would look funny with the film (that is why I went with the clear). Again I was pleasantly surprised- it looks great! You can see the etching through the film but it looks like it was meant to be there. If I could change one thing I’d make the film less see through. We prefer a bit more privacy. But as is is enough unless you are close (after 6’ I’d say). But it looks gorgeous and was super easy (admittedly I expected to fight with it). I live in a neighborhood where homes are pretty close together. I also have a handicapped spouse who needs as much daylight as possible to make moving around our house easy. I removed some blinds from a floor to ceiling bay window and applied this film. We both love it! It gives us moderate privacy and wonderful, colorful light inside our home. This is in our kitchen so I appreciate the extra light as well. As I mentioned, it does give us privacy. Having close neighbors was not an issue. We didn't feel as though we would be stared at but not looking at the HVAC unit and the brick side of their house is an added benefit. The install was a little tedious as the windows are true divided light panes - not grills between the glass. Each piece had to be cut and installed individually. The end result was well worth the effort and time to do this project. ... show more

It's pretty good, though I will note that the rainbow fracture-y pattern is not very "private." It's very pretty though. Not too hard to apply. It's convenient that it comes bundled with everything you need to apply it. The exacto knife it comes with however is kind of not good at cutting the plasticy material. I'd use a different knife, or measure in advance and use scissors. I've had no issues with this film falling off or sliding out of place. ... show more

Love love love this! Was looking for a way to create a little more privacy in our room and this takes the cake! I woke up to some beautiful rainbows! Was a bit tricky at first to apply but with patience and a couple of practice tries it gets better! Also….don't do a duh….like me and forget to peel the backing off the wrap…makes it a lot easier! I absolutely love them. They were so easy to apply, all you need is a spray bottle of soapy water, a razor blade, and a card to get rid of air bubbles. It comes with a small instruction paper to ease confusion as well. Since I’ve installed it on my bedroom window, I’ve noticed it stays cooler during the day for longer periods of time. When sun shines through the window it casts a beautiful rainbow in the room. Would definitely buy again for the price! ... show more

Everything’s included, took less than 10 minutes to apply. I did went over it with a blower dryer to secure it . I don’t know what size my windows are, but I still had some little leftover using one roll.

Absolutely beautiful! I love how it instantly gives out bathroom window so much more privacy, while still allowing us to be able to see outside if we really need to, as well as enjoying the natural light all day. If you’re looking for full privacy, this is not the product for you. I love that it came with all the tools needed to apply it and it was super easy to set up.
