  • Easy to operate p, assures independence and gives peace of mind
Color: Orange
This is a safe and easy to operate patient lift. I am a disabled senior living alone in a single family who can not freely stand. I want to continue to live here as I am and this lift gives me peace of mind should I have a fall or end up on the ground. That peace of mind is priceless. (W Clark, Ellenton, Florida) ... show more

  • Heavy duty and heavy - - not easily moved on carpet
Color: Orange
Clear instructions and easy assembly. Well made, heavy duty, and works great. The connection to the controller snaps on securely and there’s a handy pocket in the back for the charger or instructions booklet. But be aware that the lift weighs 50 pounds (actually feels heavier when fully assembled) and is far from “easy to move.” The undersized rear wheels work ok for tilting and moving the lift on hard surfaces, but those tiny wheels are not much help on a carpet. So might be best to place the lift in a semi-permanent location - - the person needing lift assistance might need to plan to scoot to the chair’s semi-permanent location (especially if that person might be alone). Also, be sure to insert the buttons of the long leg tubes into the second pair of receptacle holes (photo). Those buttons are a bit difficult to simultaneously depress with fingers while inserting the long leg tubes. If you resort to pressing the buttons with a tool, be careful to not press too hard because those buttons can become trapped inside the tube (learned the hard way). The first pair of receptacle holes are used only to enable folding of those long leg tubes for easier transport and storage - - but the difficulty of depressing the buttons and moving the tubes from the second pair of holes back to the first pair can make that folding leg feature unappealing. Even if you manage to move the tube to the first pair of holes for folding/storage, you’ll still need to reinsert the long leg tubes to the second pair of holes in order to stabilize and actually use the lift chair (possibly during a stressful/painful fall situation). So it’s likely not worth the overall effort to fold up the legs - - which is another reason to just consider the lift’s location as semi-permanent, with those long leg tubes likewise semi-permanently inserted to the second pair of holes. And of course all recharegeable batteries have a limited lifetime of recharging cycles. Despite those minor issues, if you need a heavy duty design and a semi-permanent location works for you, this lift will be a great comfort to have around for those with difficulty getting up after a fall. ... show more

  • This can provide so much piece of mind,.
Color: Orange
One of the biggest challenges as we age is what to do if we fall, and then don't have a way to get back up on our feet. It's not even always a matter of being all by ourself. Even when we live with someone, it can be difficult, painful or even impossible for a spouse/partner who also has mobility issues to help us get back up. Calling emergency services for a lift assist is always an option, but then we end up living with the anxiety of when will it happen, or if it will happen again. Having an at-home solution is big relief, and this floor lift provides that. When I first learned about these lifts, I knew we had to get one for our home. Between myself and my husband, we've had surgery or fully replaced hips, knees and shoulders. If one of us even sits down on the floor, it's a huge struggle to get back up, and the other isn't going to be much help and will likely end up on the floor too. What we can do however, it get to this chair lift. I have it set up in the most central room of our home. The idea being that if we're alone, perhaps we can scoot our way over to the chair to get our self back up. If the other is home at the time, then even better. They can roll the lift right over to them. The chair moves nice and slow. So even if you're feeling sore or a bit disoriented from a fall, it won't move you so fast that you lose your balance at all. It lifts you at a comfortable speed and then gets you into a good position to step off the chair and back into a standing position again. With this you have your own lift assist, without having to call for help. Having something like this at home is a huge piece of mind. Just knowing that there is something we can do in case of a fall. There are times when just getting up out of the chair, my knee buckles unexpectedly, and I don't fall to the floor so much as end up sitting down in slow motion. I'm not hurt, but I can't put the weight on my knees to get back up. With this lift, I'm able to scoot right over to it and have it lift me right back up, without any awkward phone calls to anyone to see if someone can swing over to give me a hand. ... show more

  • Useful for Helping Others - Not So Helpful If Your Home Alone - Great Quality - Works Well
Color: Orange
This upgraded electric floor lift is a durable, well‑made device that can be genuinely helpful in the right circumstances. I ordered it for my father, who is in his 90s and occasionally falls. Since someone is always with him, the lift works well when he falls in a spot where we can maneuver the chair close enough, help scoot him onto the seat, and then raise him safely. Once he’s upright, we bring a wheelchair or walker nearby so he can transfer and move to another location. It’s important to note that this lift is not ideal for someone who lives alone. The unit is heavy, so getting it from one room to another can be difficult, and once a person is lifted off the floor, the chair cannot be used to transport them elsewhere. It’s strictly a lift—not a mobility device. Despite those limitations, the chair performs its core function very well. It feels sturdy, stable, and capable of supporting its stated weight capacity. Assemble was easy. However, I don’t want to take it a part to store. The seat is comfortable. My only hesitation is the price, which feels high considering it doesn’t offer additional features such as built‑in transport capability. Still, for supervised care situations where falls happen and safe lifting is needed, it’s a reliable and effective lift chair. ... show more
