  • So impressed with Vizio yet again
Style: 36-in Pattern: Wireless Subwoofer Size: 2.1
Bought the 36" 2.1 version of this to go in the basement on a $270 58" TCL TV. In other words, I just wanted something loud(ish) and decent to overcome the barely-adequate-for-a-soap-opera speakers that came with the TV. This is my 3rd (maybe 4th??) Vizio soundbar over the years. Previous purchases have always been focused on the high-end of the Visio line with 5.1 surround and much larger subwoofers. And those things have always been pretty great for what they were. The bass is outstanding on those larger subwoofers. Now I'm not an audiophile, by any means. Which means that I'm not one to add $$$$$ to a speaker/driver setup in order to further myself down the road of diminishing returns. I like something that is loud, good enough, and lets me hear dialog in movies while getting pumped when working out to music. So that's me. And I spent $110 on this unit to go in a basement setup because my son decided to abscond with the old 38" 4k monitor that I *was* using in the basement instead. I had a 2.1 speaker setup hooked up to it that; and while great for its day, it was long in the tooth at 10-15 years old and literally had just finally failed on me a couple of weeks early. So I was down to nothing and bought the TV on a whim at Costco to go down there. I then needed some speakers, didn't want to spend a lot of money, and decided on these since I have always enjoyed Vizio's stuff in the past. I'd be lying if I said I was expecting much of anything. My old speaker setup was purchased long ago at $300 - $350 refurbished. It was a NICE PC speaker setup for its day. And it wasn't even a brand anyone would recognize, I don't think. It was just one of those things where that particular unit was 'a thing' in the moment when I needed to buy it back in the day. Having pretty good 2.1 pc speakers has always made it tough for me. to buy anything else because it seems like every unit is compromised in some way. Anway, I went with this Vizio unit, thinking that it is just the basement, and I can deal with less-than-ideal sound. So I got it in, plugged in the arc cable, loaded Spotify on the google tv os and let 'er rip. And, wow! The sound isn't quite as outrageous as the old setup (that failed on me recently), but it's damn loud ... certainly loud enough to fill out the basement. The base thumps. I can hear things. It's great. Like, so great I'm thinking "what else could anyone need unless they're just trying to move up the $$$$ chain for some halo level system. Bravo Vizio. I didn't expect to be delighted, but I am. So, now I have 3 Vizio systems in my house. One in my living room TV, one on my PC (yes, I'm using a soundbar on my PC atm), and now this one in the basement. And they are all awesome. ... show more

  • Great Sound Bar
Style: 36-in Pattern: Wireless Subwoofer Size: 5.1
This sound bar replaced an older Samsung. Wasn't sure what to expect from Vizio, but with positive reviews on-line and from friends, I felt that I should check them out. I have been happy with the sound bar, speakers and woofer that came with this set. In some ways, such as with lower volumes, its better than the Denon system that I use with Polk Audio speakers in a different room! Unfortunately the TV did not have HDMI Arc, so I had to use the Digital connection. The sound quality is great but can't be compares to HDMI since the connectivity isn't available. I haven't figured out how to use the Vizio with the TV without turning the TV speaker off thru the TV menu, so a little bit of a hassle there. Not sure why it doesn't override the TV speaker when in use--perhaps a feature that HDMI-Arc provides. Muting disables the TV and Vizio sound altogether unless the menu is used. No worries, still happy with this purchase and it far out weighed the sound bar that was using previously which provided just a louder sound but no depth. ... show more

  • amazing upgrade
Style: 36-in Pattern: Wireless Subwoofer Size: 5.1
i was frustrated that my amazing tv that i bought for myself last year sounded just terrible compared to the tube tv that i got for 10 bucks off facebook marketplace. i'm young, and don't get to splurge on myself that often, so it was frustrating that the built in speakers were so bad. as an upgrade from that, these are PHENOMENAL. i love all of the settings there are built in to adjust the sound on a minor level, but if that's intimidating, they also have presets. i was too lazy to set up surround for a few months, so having them all under my tv sounded excellent, but finally hanging up the rear speakers changed the game for me. definitely do not regret this purchase, and am thankful for the clarity of sound these gave me. ... show more

  • Exceeded expectations
Style: 36-in Pattern: Built-In Subwoofer Size: 2.1
I am using this Vizio soundbar with an older (over 10 years old) Samsung flatscreen TV. The built in speakers quit working on the TV, so I faced with trying to replace the speakers or trying a soundbar. I didn't really want to open the TV so I decided to try a soundbar. I also did not want an external subwoofer because I really don't want that much bass. I found this Vizio soundbar at what seemed to be a fair price and decided to give it a try. I liked the fact that there is no logo on the front of it, that the design is very clean and that the bass is integrated into the soundbar. I connected the soundbar to my TV via the HDMI ARC connection and plugged it in...and that was it. Not only does it work beautifully with my TV, after initial setup I don't even have to use the Vizio remote; I can adjust the volume and mute the the soundbar via my original Samsung remote. Also when I turn off the TV the soundbar turns off and when I turn it back on the soundbar turns on. Needless to say I was very impressed with the ease of setup and the integration via the HDMI ARC connection. Overall this soundbar has so far exceeded my expectations! Update 10/6/23 - the sound bar is great, I have really enjoyed owning it. Another thing I have started using is you can turn the soundbar Bluetooth on via the Vizio remote (TV remains off) and connect your phone to it and play music. Really this is a very device, it's been well designed and value priced. ... show more

  • If you are casual like me then they are great
Style: 36-in Pattern: Wireless Subwoofer Size: 5.1
Im not an audiophile so if you want the nitty gritty this isnt the review for you. This really isnt made for small places, im pretty sure the product page even tells you that but no really, this isnt made for small spaces. The room i bought this for is small and due to some sound science stuff im pretty sure anyone but me would understand, the people outside my house can hear my speakers better than I can. Its a little annoying i have to run a cable between the 2 little speakers and the subwoofer but for this pricetag it probably makes sense. The bass packs a punch and shakes my whole house(though that isnt hard in my house). Basically, its good for the price. If you are like me and are not an audiophile, this is a perfectly fine experience. ... show more
