Not sure where to start, but I purchased a spider farmer dehumidifier (the 220$ one). I’m a huge spider farmer customer but their dehumidifier isn’t worth a crap! Would drop my RH from 55% to 50% if I was lucky, it’s leaked water and froze up!! Even though it was more expensive i decided to try VIVOSUNs bug dehumidifier, and im very pleased!! My tent would stay around 50-55% and im mid flower, put this bad boy in and it got my tent down to 30% quickly. Does NOT put off much heat at all, in fact my tent temp doesn’t even change with it in!

DO NOT BUY THIS FOR YOUR GROW, IT'S IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH, IT IS USELESS AND SHOULD NOT EVEN BE SOLD. NOT ONLY DOES IT NOT WORK WELL IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL, WATER LEAKS OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE 'WATER CATCH' ABSOLUTELY USELESS UTTER GARABAGE.

When I ordered this product, the first unit I received unfortunately ended up being a dud. It would never turn on when plugged in, with the green power light on the power cord repeatedly flashing forever. I was obviously disappointed in this, filed a request to get a replacement product, and sent the product back to amazon. Less than 2 days after sending the broken product back, I received a new one that functioned flawlessly. It dropped the humidity in my 2x2 tent by 10% which is exactly what I was looking for. I am happy to say it seems the dud I received was a fluke, as I have always enjoyed every vivosun product I have purchased. Would happily purchase again!

At first I was a little undecided if I wanted to buy this unit based on all the negative reviews I had read. Most of the people who had bought this unit, had bought this unit to do a job it couldn't handle. This unit was not intended to dehumidify bedrooms and closets or basements. This unit was solely intended to be used in grow tents. This unit performs as it should in the space I have it in which is a 4x4x7 Ac Infinity grow tent. In the instruction manual it's says: When the ambient humidity falls below 60%, the dehumidification unit will not be as powerful and this is to prevent the grow space from becoming too dry. You don't want to dry your plants out you'll kill them. Secondly, it says, when the ambient humidity falls below 15C or 59F or the RH falls below 40% the unit will almost stop extracting moisture from the air. This is exactly what you want in your grow environment. Now, depending on where you live and what your environment is like will determine if this unit will work for you. I'll explain: I live up north in Buffalo, NY during the winter months i'll use a humidifier when the ambient air is too dry and that is usually when the temperature is 0c or 32F now 35F I'll start thinking about dehumidification. However June, July and August my ambient humidity is killer like 80%-95% and above at times so this unit will not perform in a situation like that I'll need a much more powerful unit something that can move 22-50 pints of moisture a day. Or run a AC unit and this unit it draws little power anyway. To sum up this review remember this if you're looking to cool a room or a basement. This is the wrong unit it wasn't designed for that purpose. If that is what you are looking for then buy a dehumidifier that can cover 1500 square feet. This dehumidifier is only for GROW TENTS. I highly recommend this unit it does the job well great product. I hope this review helps who ever is in the market for a unit.

This mini dehumidifier uses technology so it doesn’t need a compressor making it real quiet and ideal. It has a real nice design and goes good with a bright and reflective environment such as an indoor garden. When humidity builds up things can get moist, moldy and musty smelly. Because of that I purchased this mini dehumidifier because where I live it’s very humid. It’s pretty small and will fit well in the grow tent. It collects the excess moisture in a compartment on the back that you remove when the water reaches full capacity. A light will come on when you need to empty the water. It comes with an AC adapter that allows the appliance to use only 45w of electricity. All in all. It’s great to have such a small dehumidifier for a great price. Other humidifiers out there our allot bigger and way more expensive. If you have humidity and you need to remove it from a closet or small space this is what your looking for.

This item doesn't work well at all. I've had it running in a humid bathroom during rainy, humid weather for over 30 hours and the reservoir is about 25% full. Removing this amount of water from the air in 30 hours does not meaningfully reduce the humidity in my bathroom.

Overall it lowers humidity by about 10-20% in my 4x2 grow tent (with 2 plants in 5-gallon cloth pots): From about 70% to about 50%. With it running all the time it fills up the 1.3L reservoir in 3 days (pretty slow if you ask me, given what it needs to do). I live in a really humid area and it's been really rainy this year - so there's that peculiarity influencing me too. Pros - You can easily duct tape the light so don't let that dissuade you. - no noise - small footprint - does work minimally Cons - doesn't lower RH beyond ~15% End of the day, this will likely not be your solution but if you just need a small tweak in RH, this is a very lovely product.

I purchased the 700mL/day unit to use in my 4x2 grow tent. There isn't much space in said tent, so I wanted a small footprint dehumidifier that could reduce the humidity by 10 or so percentage points. After running the unit for several days, I noticed no drop in humidity levels and no water collected in the reservoir. And yes, the unit was plugged in and was turned on and the internal blower was running. I have been pleased with Vivosun's products so far, but this one was a dud. The unit is probably just too small to work effectively. A larger unit might work, but I don't have the space for that in my tent. I might just run a duct from my larger dehumidifier's output into the tent.
