Quiet exhaust fan

I used this fan along with an old kitchen vent hood to make a ventilation fan for my workshop. It was easy to install inline, and I wired it up to a switched outlet. Now, when I do woodworking or painting in the shop, the dust and fumes are drawn through a common furnace filter and vented outside. Although the volume of air moved is not great, it does help keep the air cleaner, without generating excessive noise.

Not strong enough to open my dampers

The fans work fine, but because they are low CFM, they won't open my butterfly dampers. I had to step up to stronger fans. These aren't terribly noisy, so if you aren't using dampers that require air flow to open, they're a good, affordable choice.

Works well, but only for 150 hours

Very disappointed

I would actually give it a no star rating,and not recommend it. The fan is very noisy, sounds like motor is about to conk out,doesn't put a good air flow through,and definitely not worth the money. Don't waste your money. Performance is complete dissatisfaction,along with a slow speed motor about to burn out.

Great Room Venting for Computer Closet
Size: 4"& No Speed Controller
I have a medium-sized closet (4'X6'x7.5') in my basement where I have my home IT equipment, yeah I am an IT guy with a home lab and a pile of equipment to run my home network and to experiment with. Since moving into my house I've had to keep the door cracked to let the heat out and some cooler air in, close to a 25 Degree (f) difference on either side of the door if it's closed all the way, maybe more on some days. It was a milder version of opening an oven door to open the room door. I installed two of these, one pulling air into the closet (it's open up there) and one pushing air out of the closet. They are separated by 5 feet and blocked from each other by the floor joists above. The intake is near the foundation wall, so benefits from the cooling of being below ground level, and the outlet blows into the unfinished basement. The difference between the inside and outside of the room has dropped nearly 20 degrees (f). I had been concerned that the sound of them might be audible on the floor above, but I can't hear anything, and in general, when passing the room, the sound of the equipment is more than the sound of these fans. Excellent results after a month or so of use.
