I bought this ice maker for my wife's birthday. She is a huge nugget ice eater. I liked the price and I thought it would be a good in between ice maker. Well, that was November, now i'm buying a new one from someone else! It started making a loud buzzing noise and it would not stop. We unplugged and restarted 30min later, but it wouldn't make ice and started to do the same thing! It also seemed to stay dirty in the water reservoir, so my wife cleaned it more than usual. Also, the drain plug under the ice maker was annoying, especially to my wife, who is not a power lifter. You have to pull it halfway off the counter and place a bowl underneath the plug and hope you plug it back in correctly or splash, its on the floor. I just trashed it and spent money on the ge opal2. It's pricey, but quiet and produces a lot of ice for her. In this case, more expensive is better! By the way, I have lowes, and they price matched the ge website and i saved nearly 200$ on the opal2! Good luck!

I have to turn this thing off. I was on a zoom and had to turn my speakers on full volume because the ice maker kept turning on and i couldnt hear anything in the meeting. It's so loud, I would rather drink my beverages warm. this thing is incredibly annoying and more of a hindrance than providing anything beneficial. Plus, I have to use an ice pick to break up the ice because the ice gets stuck together. Do NOT buy this thing Its the worst use of my money I have ever spent It tells me that this company has scammed the reviews page because there is NO WAY, these reviews are genuine. if the reviews were honest, this product would show 10,000 1 star reviews, not the other way around

This ice maker makes the best soft, chewy ice. My daughter gave to me as a gift and I love it. I have low iron and constantly eat ice all day and night. It’s fills up quick and the ice is exactly as it describes. It is made very well and easy to clean. It has a cleaning cycle :). It is very heavy but I still travel with it because I can’t find ice like this in stores. If you love soft and chewy ice this is the machine for you!

I’ve had 2 of these. The first one wouldn’t stop making a loud screeching and ticking noise. I spoke to the seller and they sent me a new one. The new one worked perfectly until last month it stopped making ice completely. I didn’t have a full year with either ice makers.

Initially (8/2024) this ice maker worked like a champ. As expected. But after two months of use 1-2 times a week, will not make ice now. Followed all mfr's suggestions in manual, no change. amazon return window has closed, but I'm still going to try. Should have listened to critical reviews. In future, I'll spend more for a reliable machine. My error; please don't discount the disappointed reviews here. May 2025. VivoHome agent send out a complete new unit after I'd followed their directions. Redeemed my faith; I'm most grateful to VivoHome!

Caution... 1st one I received started leaking in 2 weeks so Vivohome sent a replacement and exactly 24 months after getting the replacement I found sharp plastic chucks that were in my ice. Found the plastic gear was falling apart. I made them aware of their SAFETY issue and they said I was out of warranty which I figured but they need to get this issue addressed because who wants plastic in there ice. I only use this machine about 3 or 4 times a month so not used for to many hours before the 2nd one failed.
