The plastic trays can be a little bit tricky to clean when things get cooked onto them but not terribly so. I wish I could choose my own temperature instead of needing to select a pre-programmed temperature. Due to the shape and design of the trays, I couldn’t find any tray/mats that can fit to make things like fruit leather or anything liquid. I ended up making tinfoil rims and cutting my own Teflon sheets to avoid sticking. But other than that, it is very quiet, holds a lot of food, is easy to use, seems to be made well, can be turned to have low or high space between trays to accommodate different sizes/thickness of food. ... show more

The temperature control isn't very nuanced. Because it's a knobs, I expected to be able to adjust it in single degree increments but that's not the case. Not a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance. It's a little louder than I expected and the trays rattle a bit while the machine is on. I solved this by setting my husband's tape measure on the lid to weigh it down just a bit. THERE ARE NO FRUIT LEATHER TRAYS THAT FIT THIS MACHINE! None! I know because I spent hours searching. You can't even get any directly from the manufacturer. I ended up buying a set of 4"x4" silicone resin coaster molds to use instead and they work great. We've made so much stuff in the time we've had this and it's all come out perfectly. My apple budget has increased significantly, however, because my kids have me going through a 5lb bag every week to make apple chips. ... show more

I really like this dehydrator, I used it 4/5 times then followed a recipe in the booklet that comes with it for the kale. I’m not sure what went wrong but it seems the oil that is in that recipe may have shorted the heating element. This is the best purchase I have made in a long, long time! It is light and easy to carry (I use it in the basement and carry it down and up again). It has 5 trays, enough for my needs, and is super easy to clean. The price was excellent also, and worth every penny!!

I received as a gift in July 2023. Worked very well for jerky and drying fruits/vegetables. However, in January 2024, I woke up to it running over 200F on 131F setting. Front melted and burned everything. Reaching out to company, but customer service is closed on Saturday. Won’t buy another. Update: Kudos to customer service. They were responsive and appropriate.
