  • Heavy duty flat top grill with no grease control and other flaws
Review of Vivicreate Stainless Steel Outdoor Griddle for Gas & Charcoal Grills, 38 lbs Flat Top Grill Plate with Grease Groove & Handles, Extra-Large BBQ Insert for Garden, Patio & Camping 31"x17" 🟢 PROS * Solid construction — built from thick stainless steel, this griddle offers durability and even heat distribution. It feels sturdy and dependable, holding up well under high heat and heavy use. * Great for big group cookouts — the expansive 31" x 17" surface provides plenty of room to cook for a crowd. You can sear multiple burgers, steaks, or kabobs at once, or prepare multiple dishes side-by-side. * Perfect for breakfast on the grill — pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns—all cook beautifully on this flat top. The built-in grease groove helps manage fat and drippings for easier cleanup and less mess. * Dual-use flexibility — great way to turn your standard grill into a full griddle station. * Sturdy handles for transport — integrated handles on each side make it easier (though with effort) to lift and position the griddle, especially with heat-resistant gloves. 🔴 CONS * Heavy and clunky — at 38 lbs it’s not something you’ll want to move often. It requires two hands—and possibly two people—to lift and carry safely. * Size compatibility issues — this griddle doesn’t fit all standard grills. Be sure to measure your grill surface carefully before purchase. It barely fits grill, and I have the largest Weber available. * Sloppy welds and arrived bent. * No grease drain plug or trap — if you use this as shown, grease will drip right into your bbq grill (possibly causing a fire!) or right onto your feet and clean deck (if you dangle it over the edge of your island or table) * Rusts too easily (see my photo) Earns 2 stars because while it offers excellent cooking space and durability for group meals, its lack of grease control, heavy weight and limited grill compatibility make it unsafe and impractical for most cooks. Would gain +1 star if the welds and steel were of higher quality. Would gain +1 star if it had a grease drain plug or catch basin beneath it. ... show more

  • Enigmatig Flat-Top Proves To Be Garbage.
The media could not be loaded. This grill item appears to be as described. It's a 31-inch by 17-inch heavy duty stainless steel Flat-Top griddle. This review is for the Vivicreate Stainless Steel Outdoor Griddle for Gas & Charcoal Grills, 38 lbs Flat Top Grill Plate with Grease Groove & Handles, Extra-Large BBQ Insert for Garden, Patio & Camping 31”x17” Review Submitted June 2025 There are spot welds applied around the edges of the cooking area. The Flat-Top itself appears to be blemished by an unknown substance that presents as a variations in the surface sheen and texture. After one cleaning this condition persists. We'll wash it down more thoroughly using a Stainless Polish such as Bon Ami. We strive to approach all items under review from the perspective of ultimate neutrality. We provide an initial neutral Three star rating to this Flat-Top. Although our initial reaction is mixed. We are impressed by the heft and thickness of this unit. We are disapointed by the spot welds marring the cooking surface edges of the unit and by the variegated surface texture and coloration of the item. The unit appears to be constructed fairly well. It fits the sizing mold as described. Yet there are some odd bends and kinks to the splash guard suggesting that the parts did not quite fit, but were forced to during construction. Our initial effort to clean the unit with soap water, and Stainless steel cleaner was not completely successful which gives us pause. Clearly this is an *Enigmatic* cooking device with various quirks that are mysterious to us. Apparent high quality build, and yet various slapdash applications that are odd. Steel construction that should be uniform and easy to clean, and yet it is NOT quite uniform, and whatever it is that's on the surface is NOT easy to clean. It is ... *Strange ... Puzzling ... Mysterious even.* Take a look at the attached photos for more info. We've updated this review as additional information has been revealed from our continued testing of this cooking instrument. See attached video and pics. The claim that this is "stainless steel" is indeed suspicious. We have observed various traits indicative of low quality, and perhaps evidence that this thing is not composed of stainless steel. This observation is based on the condition we observed before this griddle was used. Namely that the patina, or protective layer produced by the Stainless steel manufacturing process was compromised before the product was delivered. This theory partially explains the odd variegated patina we initially observed. The griddle was not manufactured correctly, and or, the griddle was damaged before we received it. Thus, low quality, damaged, stainless steel, in our estimation, is not stainless steel — at least not any more. It is detritus. Let's review the basics of creating stainless steel and review how it can be damaged. The manufacturing process used to fabricate Stainless steel involves the addition of chromium. The chromium reacts with oxigen to create a "passive" layer of chromium oxide on the surface of the steel. The chromium oxide acts to create a protective barrier insulating the steel from rust and other potentiallly corrosive elements. High quality stainless steel is manufactured by creating a thick and rugged chromium oxide layer. This process is time consuming and expensive. Low quality stainless is produced quickly and possesses a fragile chromium oxide layer. If this chromium oxide layer is damaged through scratches, exposure to corrosive chemicals, or prolonged exposure to harsh environments, the now exposed plain steel can begin to rust. Q: What conditions must exist to compromise high quality stainless appliances placing them at risk of rusting? A: Good question. 1. Exposing your stainless to corrosive chemicals: such as acid, chlorine, or saltwater can damage the protective layer. 2. Prolonged exposure to moisture and heat can damage the protective chromium oxide layer over time. Even absent chemicals, extended exposure to moisture and heat can lead to rust. Typically this condition develops over a long period of continuous abuse. 3. Various contaminants, if repeatedly introduced to the stainless steel, can degrade the chromium oxide layer. If you expose your stainless steel appliance to iron particles from tools or grinding, those particles can begin to corrode, stain, and promote rust as the stainless steel chromium oxide layer is worn away. That this griddle arrived in the condition it did, indicates that there were manufacturing problems, that the item we received is not a high quality stainless device, and that the instrument was abused for a prolonged time before we received it. Clearly what we recieved is an example of a low quality, poorly manufactured, damaged item. This speaks to a total lack of quality control at every level and is a weighty indictment against this vendor. To put it plainly, we are disapointed and cannot recommend this item to anybody. We bequeath ZERO stars upon this total unmitigated piece of low quality dreck. This is a ZERO star deal there. Amazon translation — one star. ZERO Stars. ... show more

  • Awesome addition to your grill
This thing is huge and heavy but fits perfectly in my grill. Love that now my grill is more versatile and we can use it as a flat top. This opens up way more variety in things we can cook outside on the bbq. The metal is thick so it takes a bit to heat up. One thing to note is in the pictures the griddle looks good and sleek but when we got it, the spot welds make it look cheap. Another thing to note that isn't really clear in the pictures it that the griddle has one port that sticks out in the bottom right. I believe this is for draining grease and oil but the pictures mention this is for anti slip? It might cause issues with your grill if there's no spot for it to sit in. ... show more

  • Grill Topper - Just Doesn't Work
I bought this addition to my Weber grill to make various breakfast items like fried eggs, pancakes, hash browns, etc. Its a good idea and due to the weight, I thought it would perform very well. However, after the first use, its easy to tell that the build and design is not well thought out. The surface has rusted after just a couple of days and the visible spot welds make it look extremely cheap. Also, the packaging of this item was horrendous. There was no bubble wrap or anything to protect it, therefore it was bent on delivery. Overall, I would not recommend this. ... show more

  • Perfect addition for any outdoor cooking.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This griddle was the perfect addition to our grill. It covers the whole bottom rack and still lets the lid close. This is easy to use and clean (Although it is heavy! So be pre3pared for that). It is wel built and distributes the heat equally through the whole top. We made stir fry on this. ... show more
