First off I love the wireless unit and use it a lot, but the short proprietary cord that came with it had a short and my headset would blink off and reboot if I moved just "so" or touched it. Wireless has taken my VR to a new level of enjoyment. I thought it was fun before, despite the unsightly cable always getting in the way and getting twisted up, but wireless has taken it to a new level. Research it thoroughly: yes, you'll have a battery pack on your belt or in your pocket, and yes you'll need to install a PCIe card and follow the instructions to make simple modifications to the headset, and *yes* you'll need to buy the accessory pack to attach it. If you know what's involved then you won't be surprised by the install, but you will be by the feeling of playing untethered VR. I haven't noticed any slowdowns, lag, or lower resolution. The experience is 95% perfect, but every once in a while (once every few hours) I'll get a second or two of a grey screen. That might be my antenna replacement, but even if I can't fix it, I'd still give this thing five stars. Makes the Vive Pro that much better. ... show more

Heavy and hot on the head. I wonder if it causes any problems. The unit gets pretty warm. I had to add some more protection to it. One battery is not enough; should come with two batteries. Does not last long enough; only 4 hrs or less.

Great gift for my husband. He loves being wireless. It enables him to play VR games he had problems with before because the cord would get in the way. There is only one that know of he can't play due to latency. He uses a belt to put the battery pack on. He also purchased a 2nd bigger battery so he always has a charged battery. ... show more

Whole Package When I consider the VP, WA and WAAK together it gets my 5 stars. I have a wired Vive and recently decided to do the full upgrade. I have been extremely pleased with this upgrade. The new VP headset is very comfortable and the increased resolution is noticeable. And, being unwired is absolutely wonderful. I was so used to getting wound up in my cord on the wired Vive. It was pretty easy to install. The battery life isn't very good though. I can play for a couple hours, then I have to wait several hours for it to charge. Sometimes it will randomly cut out for a second. You're sacrificing overall video quality for wireless. In some games, wireless is best.
