I am a coach in the Rock Steady Boxing Program at The Social of Greenwood Indiana, the largest active adult center in Johnson County. Rock Steady Boxing helps reverse and or delay the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and we have 70+ boxers in our 8 classes each week. Parkinson's patients have problems with balance and gait (walking) so for the boxers with the worst symptoms we use "Gait" belts.     • Life Saver!
My sister-In-law has an active seizure disorder and recently came to live with us. She has a history of being admitted to the hospital for multiple injuries,(broken bones included) related to falls while having seizures. We have been able to keep her safe and out of the hospital for over a year now! It has kept her from countless falls, many of which I am sure would have been very nasty had we not been able to have a good hold on her. I LOVE that there are multiple handles to hold onto her from any side and they are positioned both horizontally and vertically. Very thoughtful design! The only thing that has not held up were the little metal end pieces on the belt, which actually did not effect the quality or effectiveness, and even though it came off, the belt did not start to unravel! So even though that small piece came off, it still gets five stars from me for design and sturdiness. Would absolutely purchase again in a heartbeat, but I think this one will last for a long time. My mothers PT recommended that I buy a Gate belt to help her stand, transfer, etc. I bought one here for 8 dollars and it’s fine but you have to stick your hands or fingers underneath it to grab it. THIS TRANSFER BELT is totally different because it har multiple straps around it to grab the belt and help the person that’s wearing it not fall. You will not have your hand in an awkward position and twist your wrist. Its also safer for the person wearing it and you won’t strain your back. At least in my case. Now everywhere I go people like my mothers PT, her Neurologyst, Urologist, Nurse, Primary DR everyone is asking me where I bought it because they also think its awesome.     • Wonderful Help
My husband is very prone to falls. We had the type of gait belt that you see in most rehab settings and that you see most of the time. This belt is head and shoulders above all the others. Not only is made of a heavier material, it is designed where the back in bigger than the front for more control for the care giver. The handles are amazing and for the first time I feel a little confident in my ability to help him keep from falling but in the event he does to be able to better help him up. I strongly urge anyone who is a care giver to get this belt. It will be a great help to you and your loved one. My husband even willingly wears this one all of the time.
