It took me over an hour to install this because I got a size that I knew was not as big as my windows because it was cheaper. I didn't know if I wanted to do this because it meant I wouldn't be able to look out the window for the summer, but the relief I've gotten from the heat is worth it. I would get temperatures of 86 degrees when it was only in the seventies outside, and now that it's in the 90s, today particularly being the hottest day so far this year, my room can stick around the same temperature with no AC or fan running. When I get direct sunlight in the early morning, I can touch the these blackout pieces and feel how incredibly hot they are, yet the space around my window is not hot. I also got blackout drapes as well to catch any additional heat, and this has helped tremendously. I think my room is anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees cooler than it was before I put these on the window. The only light coming through is from my window AC that's at the bottom of one of the windows, but it doesn't make the room any hotter. Because these work so efficiently, I'm able to cool the room in a matter of minutes, about 15 minutes, no matter how hot the room gets. It was painful putting them up because they would slide off or move around until I got them set up properly, so at one point I just ended up putting tape on it to make sure they stayed, and I've had them up for a month now, and they stay just fine. Anyone who buys these should know that they have to use soapy water and spray it onto the window after it's been cleaned in order to make it clean. Also, there's a film that has to be peeled off before it can stick to the window. Make sure to put it on the right way, or else it won't catch the sun rays. It's supposed to block up to 100% of the sun rays, and I believe it's because it's so hot when the sun directly hits it that it could literally almost burn my hand. Yet the space around it is normal temperature and much cooler. If you have the patience to put these on and don't mind not seeing out your window for a while, they will definitely benefit anyone who has a room that just refuses to stay cool, especially in direct sunlight. Day-sleeper. I followed the directions but the edges don’t adhere to my windows well so I used some painter’s tape. The middle is well-adhered though. To note- I live in an apartment and have an issue with ALL window clings due to cheap windows, so this may be my problem here. They block 100% of the light. I am currently in a Wisconsin winter and these are very warm to touch during the daytime. I am curious how this will be in the summer, or if I’ll revert back to using black poster board because I’m sleeping in an oven. Will update then. ... show more

Not a fan of this product at all. Slips and slides are Lund the whole time even with tape holding it. Doesn’t want to stay on the glass even though I’ve followed all the steps. Much darker than I thought. Thought I’d see at least a bit of sunlight. Great if you want complete black out and no light whatsoever. ... show more

Idk what we’re rating sheerness for because the point is to block out light and it sure does block out light with 0% transparency. This is not a window tint, that is a different product. Your window measurements will likely require some creativity so measure before you buy then measure when you cut it. You will have to use your tape roll to detach the clear film off each piece. I only struggled a little bit when I did not keep the window wet as I placed the product. My spray of choice was glasses cleaner spray because I didn’t know where my winded was. Anyway, great product for Night Shift workers, just cut carefully and use a flat thing to smooth it out even a ruler will do. ... show more
