I found these video walkie talkies for my kids and they have honestly been such a fun addition to our house. The rechargeable USB feature has been a huge plus for me because I don’t have to keep buying batteries (which can be dangerous for younger kids anyway), and they charge fairly quickly after the kids inevitably forget to plug them in after a full day of play. The sound quality has been clear enough for them to use both inside the house and out in the yard, and I haven’t noticed any frustrating static during normal use. The picture quality is also great for the value of them, I'm impressed. The built-in camera chat feature is what really makes these stand out. My kids love being able to 'take pictures' of each other and stay in touch while they’re “on a mission,” and it adds a whole new level of imaginative play. They’ve used them for pretend camping adventures, backyard scavenger hunts and even just talking to each other from different rooms. The size fits comfortably in their hands and the buttons are simple enough for them to figure out without constant help. I also appreciate that they feel sturdy and have held up well to being dropped more than once and remain perfectly functional. The bright blue and pink colors make them exciting to open as a gift, and they’ve been great for family games, camping trips and just everyday play.

These Video Walkie Talkies Toys for Kids Ages 3-12 – Rechargeable USB Two-Way Radios with Camera, 2 Packs Handheld Intercom for Indoor Outdoor Family Games, Camping, Hiking & Birthday Gifts (Blue & Pink) are a fun toy and the first video walkie talkies I have seen. Using a spectrum analyzer, it appears they work in the 2.4 GHz band, so they do not need a license. They only transmit intermittently, which allows two way communication. The only downside is there is a significant delay, especially with the voice. They have a fair amount of features, so kids may need help or an older kid to run them. The sound and images are just OK, and the display may not be bright enough for full sun, but at this price point that is to be expected. The 2.4 GHz will limit the distance they can be used at, and they may not go through walls very well. They are rechargeable and come with recharging cables and lanyards.

The media could not be loaded. I initially got these thinking they'd be amazing for a camping trip, so the kids could gather firewood or be on a little walk or something and video back. They do work for that, but they're more toy level reliable (and priced as such). There's a significant voice lag when you talk with these, so you have to wait for responses, but that's a fun feature of walkie talkies that I still remember from my childhood, over. It's more noticeable on a video call, though. Video quality is adequate, but you're not going to be showing each other cool bugs from different locations and getting enough resolution to see the cool features. The devices are simple, without built in games or extras, and that makes them high quality in my book--huge plus (see brief video demo from when I first unboxed them). You can message chat via emoji or pictures, too. It has a feature to leave voice messages in the chat too, but that's essentially just regular walkie talkie without the video, because the recipient can't play it back, only hear it in real time. All in all, it's a great toy!

I got these Video Walkie Talkie Children’s Toys for my kids to use both indoors and during short outdoor play, and they’ve absolutely loved them. The video and audio quality are clear within short distances, like a couple of rooms or in the backyard. I bought these walkie talkies as a gift for my kids, and they were excited at first. The camera function is a nice bonus, and the units feel lightweight and kid-friendly. They work well indoors when the kids are close by, and the sound quality is acceptable at short distances. The biggest issue is the lack of true long-distance transmission. When used outdoors, even a moderate distance causes static or complete signal loss. This makes them less useful for hiking or camping, which was one of the main reasons for purchasing. They are still fun toys for close-range play, but expectations should be adjusted regarding distance performance.

I got these walkie talkies for a child’s Easter basket and they’re great. The my are good quality and they’re very easy to use. All functions work as advertised. The quality of the video is very high. The videos are smooth with no lag or static. They are able to be used at 1000+ feet with no issues and also in the house. Voices transmit easily without any interference or static and are easy to hear. The different voice changers also work well with no issues. Battery life is pretty good and can be used consistently for about 3 hours before needing to charge.

My niece and nephew love to play with these things. They have a lot of fun sending each other messages and playing games with them. They're very simple to use and work really well. They're just the right size for them, and they seem like they're designed well enough to withstand being dropped every now and then. The battery life is also great so they can get several hours of use out of them between charges. All in all, these are a great buy for the cost.
