These video walkie-talkies are a fun toy for kids and offer some features that make them more interesting than standard walkie-talkies. They're made of plastic and don't feel especially sturdy, but they work well for what they are. One of the best features is that you can see the other person on the screen without needing Wi-Fi or a phone connection. They're lightweight and easy for kids to carry around. However, the included strap and clip could be improved. The strap tends to come off easily, while the clip is surprisingly difficult to detach when you want to remove it. The video quality is actually quite good for a toy in this price range. One thing to keep in mind is that if you hold the device too close to your face while talking, the camera can create a strange-looking image. Interestingly, your voice comes through at about the same volume whether you're speaking very close to the microphone or from a more normal distance. Kids will probably enjoy the extra features, such as the AI voice-changing button and the ability to add stickers, costumes, and other effects to their face on the screen. You can also turn off the live video and use a screensaver instead if you prefer. The communication range isn't especially impressive outdoors and seems to work better inside the house than across longer outdoor distances. Still, considering the price, the video capability, and the fun effects, these provide good value and are a decent toy for kids looking to have some fun communicating with friends or siblings.

We had tried regular walkie talkies in the past and unfortunately ran into the issue of other people talking over the channel. As a parent that made me uncomfortable and it wasn’t something I wanted my girls dealing with while they were trying to play. These completely solved that problem for us. Since they communicate directly with each other there aren’t random people interrupting conversations which immediately gave me much more peace of mind. That alone made these worth it for our family. Beyond that they are just a lot of fun. My girls loved being able to actually see each other while talking and the different voice changers had them laughing nonstop. They also had a great time decorating them with the included stickers which made each one feel unique. They’re rechargeable which I always appreciate because it saves buying batteries over and over again. Setup was straightforward and the controls were simple enough that my kids picked them up quickly. If you’ve been hesitant about traditional walkie talkies because of open channels like I was these are a fantastic alternative. They’ve been one of the most enjoyable communication toys we’ve owned.

My kids (ages 3 and 5) love these. Half the time they’re sitting right next to each other using them, which is pretty funny, but they’ve also used them properly—one inside and one outside—and they work well for that too. What stands out: * Video feature is a great add-on – not something you usually get with walkie-talkies, and the quality is actually pretty decent for what it is. * Sound quality is solid – clear enough for kids to communicate without frustration. * Rechargeable (USB-C) – big win not having to deal with AA/AAA batteries. * Battery life is strong – we’ve gotten around ~6 hours with pretty constant use, though it may vary. * Comfortable size – easy for small hands to hold. * Extras are fun – includes stickers for customization and a lanyard for easy carrying. Things to be aware of: * Like most walkie-talkies, kids have to learn when to press and hold the talk button—that takes a little practice. * The video “uniform” filters (police, firefighter, etc.) are a cute idea, but my kids didn’t use them much. * Haven’t fully tested the max range yet, but inside/outside use has worked well with no issues. These video walkie talkies are such a fun upgrade from the classic ones! Right out of the box, they’re incredibly easy to use—just power them on and they automatically connect and display live video. No complicated setup at all, which is definitely a bonus for kids. The video quality is surprisingly clear for a toy like this, and the audio comes through just as well. There are also several buttons with different features, and the voice changer is definitely a standout—my niece and nephew couldn’t stop laughing while using it. It adds an extra layer of fun beyond just talking back and forth. As far as range goes, I haven’t tested the full limits, but they worked perfectly on different floors of a house with no issues, which is great for indoor use. The only downside is the build quality. The plastic doesn’t feel especially durable, and it seems like it could crack if dropped on a hard surface, so I’d recommend handling them with a bit of care—especially with younger kids. My kids were completely obsessed with these the second we opened the box. They loved being able to actually see each other on the screen instead of using regular walkie talkies. It turned into an all-day game around the house. The setup was simple, the buttons are easy for kids to figure out, and the rechargeable feature is so much better than constantly buying batteries. The sound quality was surprisingly decent too. Definitely feels more like a fun gadget/toy combo than a basic walkie talkie, and it kept my kids entertained way longer than I expected.
