if you think you're buying a tripod that quickly on the move you'll change it to a mono pod and keep going, its not the case. the instructions show to screw off a leg and screw it on the head. there all these little pieces that are not shown in the manual. Im pretty handy and I couldn't get it back together. Nothing online about this tripod to help either. I really need to stop buying things from china if its even possible. ... show more

Definitely heavier than I was expecting and some minor issues learning best way to attach to quick release, but after overcoming these two hurdles, so far, nothing but positives. The unexpected weight makes this tripod extremely stable when paired with legs that can be expanded at 3 locking angles; making uneven ground setups easily done when adjusted using the two built in levels. With dismantling, the height can be adjusted with the base of the camera as low as 20" up to an astonishing 75" high (step ladder not included)! And if you're wanting to keep things light, one of the legs detach for monopod stabilization. With more work, the tripod can apparently adjust to provide Macro shooting at a height in the sub 12" high arena, or the center column can be reversed and the shooting done upside down just off the ground. When shooting video the tripod has nice smooth motion and if looks matter to you, it's a pleasing tech black n red. ... show more

This isn't the lightest tripod I have ever owned but that's a good thing. The build quality and materials are phenomenal. No more will I ever fumble with a plastic tripod. It is super sturdy and can handle a heavy payload. The fluid head is super smooth as well.

    • Nice lightweight setup!
I've waited a bit to review this Avella A154P Video Tripod, since I wanted to use it on a couple shoots before reviewing it. Since they finally happened, I have a better feel for this tripod. I used this as a backup/B-roll cam with a Sony A7 iv, 5" monitor, 95Wh external battery. The tripod was stable enough, but I did have to tighten the tension on a leg a bit more from the factory. This is probably an oversight, but ALWAYS test your equipment before a shoot! The total weight was probably close to 9 lbs, and did fine. The video head is smooth, and travel is consistent. Integrated bubble level is helpful in setup. Arca-Swiss compatible camera mount. Glad to have it! You can take out the center stem and use it as a monopod or reverse it for low angle shots... I haven't tried that yet. But the option to use it as a monopod is a really cool feature! Overall build quality is very nice. I was surprised by how nice the paint/anodizing? is on the pieces. Since this tripod got secondary use, I didn't work it over like a main tripod gets from setup/take down over and over. But I liked it! It did what I asked it to, and did fine. SUGGESTION: get a ground spreader if you plan to use this for anything professional: interviews, weddings, sports. You want a more solid base with more stability and weight on the ground. ... show more
