Its a good pump & definitely serves its purpose for me (air-up tires when I get off the trails). I didn't realize that it requires its own separate mounting bracket. Make sure you order a bracket specific to your vehicle- I have a JK 2007-2011 Left Hand Drive. Additionally, I did not realize that this compressor requires you to install a separate power switch- I just assumed that there was a power switch on the compressor itself. Also, the compressor gets very hot (& its super hot in the engine compartment anyway- I only run the compressor when the vehicle is running) & I've actually popped a hole in the cheap plastic air hose that I have a couple times. Here's a little tip if you can't avoid having a cheap hose near the super hot compressor- always keep the air running out of the fill side of the hose (even if its not attached to a tire or anything else) so the air pressure doesn't back-up too much. If there's too much pressure in the hose, & the hose is next to a heat source, there is more chance that the hose will pop. All in all, I am happy with the compressor & it really serves a purpose for me ... show more

    • OK, kinda slow and uses your vehicle gas too much
Works well up to 50-60 psi or so. Even then it takes a long time (in my opinion) to refill the tank (Viair 91028) so you can do the next tire. Above 50-60 psi it takes a loooong time if you're adding more than 5 psi. Also, it's necessary to run your vehicle's engine to power this since it sucks a lot of amps, so as to avoid running down your battery. So we see our gasoline usage go up fast. Went back to using the portable Viair 440P for most jobs because you don't have to wait for the air tank to refill, and you can run the engine of the vehicle you're working on instead of your own service vehicle (with this 48043 mounted in it). ... show more

    • does the job, just a little slow
It's shiny lol but a little slow to build air, for the money I guess I expected a stronger charge of air coming out but it does do the job. I use it to air up the rear bags on my Kodiak 4x4 and after a few minutes the truck starts to level off.

    • Amazing comp. I have it on 7 gal tank pumping to 150 psi
This compressor was my first real 12v and it is well built. Runs very well, no wierd noise, VERY quiet, the only noise is the check valve (doing it's job) resonating in my 7 gal tank. I've only run it a maximum of an 8 minutes at a time and it is amazing. I fill my 7 gal 0-150 in about 8. I have a viair pressure switch 110 on 150 off yet to be installed along with a viair 30 amp dash Panel gauge. This is supplying my 2 trumpet air horn. Recommend to everyone needing air. The head does get pretty warm at the end of 8 minutes but no worries here. EXTREMLY FAST SHIPPING WITH THESE GUYS!!! 100 stars ... show more

Small enough to install behind my bumper. Quiet enough that you barely hear it running when the engine is on. Fills up my 2 1/2 gallon tank to 150 PSI in maybe 4 minutes. Very satisfied with the quality

Bought this to replace the compressor on a 1790 John Deere planter. It was/is mounted on the tongue and is only used for the airbags. The mounting holes lined up fine. Had to find new connectors for the electrical and air lines. Other than that it was a perfect fit and works! At about 3x less than the new one with green paint! ... show more
