I spent more than I'd like on my e-bike – it really is a luxury item for me. So I really don't want it stolen. I see no point in spending thousands on a bike and then getting cheap when it comes to locking it up. This U-lock is pricey, but I think it's probably worth it. From a practical standpoint, it's probably close to impossible to fully protect against bike theft. But this heavy-duty lock is certainly a deterrent, and it might take some work to defeat it. I do wish they made the key a little slimmer – it takes up more space than anything else on my keyring. I also don't know why they attach the keys to the lock with a zip tie – it's a pain to remove without using a sharp object that may damage the nice plastic coating of the lock. A piece of tape would have worked just fine, or even just leaving it unattached in the box. Minor gripes, I know, but still... ... show more

With the recent acquisition of and e-scooter, having security for it when out and about, is a must. This Via Velocity short U lock should provide just that. This bike lock is very well constructed. Having a Sold Secure Diamond Certification proves its supreme strength, providing excellent protection from theft. The shackle is made from 20CrMnTi steel, giving me confidence my e-scooter will be safe. The exterior of the lock has a rubberized type coating. That allows for the surface of my scooter to remain scratch free. The size of the lock is small enough to be lightweight, but adequate to allow attachment to a variety of sturdy structures, ensuring its safety. Included with the lock, are 4 keys, a nice touch, allowing me to have peace of mind, in the event of losing one. The keys fit smoothly into the lock, while the entry of the lock remaining dirt free and safe from water entering the key hole, via a shutter type shield. The lock also features a double lock system. Overall, I’m very pleased to have gotten this bike lock. Some, may think it’s a bit high in price when compared to others similar in nature. But I feel side by side comparison to the others, makes this well worth the price. ... show more
