I bought this bike lock for a cheap $100 used bike I bought. Due to circumstances outside of my control, I had to leave my bike overnight in a part of Denver where theft is high. I was so certain that it was going to get stolen that I said my goodbyes to my bike before leaving it. I came back the next day and it was still there!! Someone tried to steal it but they couldn’t break the lock. It looks like they took a lighter and a hammer to it and eventually gave up. I am so impressed that this lock kept my bike safe and I’m still able to use it despite the thief’s efforts! It’s a little beat up now still perfectly functional. If you’re in the market for a bike lock, I highly recommend this one. It’s easy to use and the chord is long enough to loop it around your front tire and frame. Easy to set the lock and operate. The reason for 3 stars is that it is so hard to strech out and it springs in so strongly. You can really only get 3 ft out of this because it won’t extend the maximum length. I also get worried that it pulls in so strongly that the bike the scratch from pushing what it’s leaning on. This cable is a BEAR to feed through a fragile and expensive road bike such as mine. It's curled tight and does not straighten out so it freaks me out feeding it through my rims praying it doesn't snap a spoke. This thing is seriously sturdy, being stranded, no doubt pretty hard to cut by any tool that's not powered, but MAN is it hard to unravel lol. I spend more time feeding this beast through than I do mounting my bike on my rack, but that's a good thing really.
