The Master Lock Cable Lock, 6 ft. (8122D) is an overall great product. The 6-foot cable provides plenty of length to secure bikes or other items, and the set-your-own combination feature is super convenient—no need to worry about losing keys! It feels very sturdy and reliable, giving me peace of mind when I lock up my bike. One thing to note is that it’s a bit bulky, which might make it less convenient to carry around on longer rides.     • Just a bit annoying SOMETIMES
it comes with a clip to attach to your bike which is nice. just that it's so stiff and wound up that it CAN be annoying to lock your bike sometimes, but not too big of a deal. setting your code takes like 30 seconds too. if you feel that it's hard to open the numbers have to be closely aligned.

    • Can’t Be Easily Cut
Unfortunately it’s a really good lock as it’s not easily cut. Would be very difficult to steal anything it locks up… However when it fails to open that’s not helpful! Bought this for my daughter to use while in Atlanta. Right away, we changed the code so she would be able to remember one she established. You attest the side dial and set the new code. We did that and tested the new code several times before locking up her bike. The next day I put the lock together and locked up her bike. She was able to unlock it herself and rode to a local Target. When she arrived, she called me and asked if I had difficulty putting the lock back together when I used it, I said no, although it was a bit “stiff”. I told her to push it together and that should be fine. She did eventually, locked the bike, and went into the store. When she came out, she could not open the lock. She tried several times and it would not unlock despite having unlocked for me, and for her. She asked for help, tried lubricating it (since it was stiff), and nothing would work. The lock would not open. She asked for help from Target employees and security. Even though they could not get it open. They tried cutting it with typical bolt cutters and it could not be cut. It took a locksmith to open it and they used specialized cutting tools. So while this is a great lock that is not easily cut, I am having a hard time giving it more than one star because she used it three times before it wouldn’t open. It’s being returned. ... show more

    • This is the cheapest you should go, but it works well enough.
We bought a few of these for our bikes and stroller in a parking garage. I dont think this would stop a determined thief, but its hearty enough than someone else usually has a weaker lock next to you. I like that I can change the combination, sometimes I loan my bike to a friend so I will change the combo for them so I dont give up the code I had been using at the time, and can constantly keep changing as you go. It's coil is a bit to taught, which makes installing it uncomfortable and annoying, but it is long enough to secure any bicycle and easy enough to unlock. ... show more
