I wasn't able to use this on my utility trailer because the drip edge is to low from the top of the roof. Also its a pretty cheap setup, they send you carriage bolt to put it all together but the shoulder on the bolt is deeper than the thin metal to assemble, so they don't actually tighten all the way. The few stars I gave it was because this was the least expensive rack and would work for a light duty rack on a van, but don't expect it to be super tight.

These bars cannot extend to 57.5 inches as the total length is 56 inches. I extended the bars to 52 inches, and that left only 4 inches to "overlap" in the bars. Of course, that only equals 56 inches, but you need to overlap the bars if you want to haul things. Secondly, the manufacturing is a little off in the 90 degree angles where you mount the bolts...the problem with this is, the bars do not sit flush and they rocked a little. I solved the problem by really cranking it down on my self-made truck enclosure (wood), so it seems solid now. Third, the bars bow a bit in the middle where you turn the screw to tighten the two bars together. After unscrewing and tightening the bars constantly to try to straighten, it just would not straighten out. Fourth, there were no bolts to secure the rack to the truck in the carton. Maybe it fell out, or someone lifted it, as the carton was half open when it was delivered. Even with all of this, I'm going to keep it as it's too much hassle to take it all apart, repack, etc. I need a rack for my truck and I've attached it so it's solid. The true test will be when I haul lumber on it. The bars themselves are strong.

I purchased this rack system to use on several older style trucks with raised seam rain gutters & it worked very well, easily adjusts for different width roofs. Vevor stands out with excellent customer service- I had a minor issue (not product related) and they responded quickly & helped out. Highly recommended both Vevor and this rack.

The construction of the product was ok, not the best but fair for the price its held up structurally (i purchased the 3 bar set for $75) but soon after installing on the roof of my van the paint started to chip and the rack started to rush now its totally corroding. This is the second time im having a bad experience with Vevor, they always do decent construction but some where they cut a corner making the whole thing not worth it!

Ok, on the product description it says “tight and secure packing” or something like that to ensure no accessories are lost. This came today with a legitimately open box….luckily I had bolts that I could use for it already. Legit the box was just open and it wasn’t from transport it was just lazy packing. Five stars for the rack itself, it does what it should.
