I used this come-along as a chain hoist to lift the front-end of my lawn tractor so I could change the mower blades. In the photo, the hoist is attached to a hook mounted in the header for the door to my shed. The chain on the hoist was too short to reach all the way to the ground, but a 6-foot canvas sling was used to take up the slack. A sling was needed anyway since there was no convenient place to attach the hook of the hoist to the tractor. It all worked really well. I like the hoist because it is light weight and makes lifting the heavy tractor an easy job, especially with the help of my firefighter grandson. ... show more

We use this to lift our snowplow an additional 12 inches in order to make it over a steep driveway approach and then we lower it again.
