I purchased and installed 2 of these handrail kits. They are powder coated steel, assembly takes a little time, make sure all of the parts are included. I returned one kit because one of the ballasters was missing. It is very nice that the kit includes the correct size masonary drill bit for the installation. My biggest concern was that the lower (ground level) ballaster ends up being an unequal distance from the upright handrail post. This is purely an esthetic thing and does not hinder the function of the handrail. In addition it can also end up tilted slightly from the other ballasters. Look at the picture of the handrail provided in this advertisement and you will see what I am describing. Other than that it functions well and is a great handrail for the money.

We received these rail for my dad who is 81 with medical issues. The rails were defective, parts of the metal aren’t cut properly to insert vertical rails. I’m requesting a full refund

... when installed, but a real pain to assemble. Railing uses long connector nuts, a challenge to connect to the opposite side bolt; through bolts with acorn nuts would be way easier for assembly. Instructions are worthless. Railing has drywall screws for fastening to wood where 1/4" bolts would actually hold the railing firmly. Very few 5/6 step iron railings available, but worth the effort to shop around.

This package arrived with rails and all the hardware needed to mount. Moreover it contained the masonry bit and other tools to install. One note, my stairs were not a standard pitch and the inner rail did not fit.

The fastening bracket to secure the railing was damaged. The bracket attaching to the concrete was bent but usable. One of the covers for the fastening bracket was damaged and not usable. I don’t expect that it will last 20 years, but it will do the job for quite awhile before rust takes its toll on the bracket. For the money it did what I needed it for.
