I recently moved into a house that the drains get clogged easily. First time one clogged I bought a handheld drum snake tried for hours with no luck and ended up paying a plumber $420 others wanted $500 so the next time I got a clog I tried the handheld one for a hour with no luck. I was able to get the handheld one to the clog but not push through, the clog was right near a floor drain so for the week I waited I just had the laundry sink that the upstairs sink backed up into unattached at the pea trap so that the sink upstairs just flowed into the floor and went down the drain while still being protected from sewer gas. When it came I took 15 minutes to unbox and set it up and 10 minutes to unclog. Just keep in mind if you have no experience at all with snaking a drain you need to be very careful and watch some videos but it’s not rocket science. There were several 90 degree turns but with the auto feed and foot pedal with reverse switch it was easy to maneuver but if you didn’t know what you were doing at all you could easily get it stuck and kinked in the pipe with the power it has behind it. Very happy it is the same quality of machine you would end up spending double the price for at a big box store. So if you can wait a week for delivery I highly recommend if your at all handy it pays for itself the first time you use it.

When I bought this I was unsure from some of the reviews and after receiving it I’m certain that the bad reviews were from improper use. We have a problem drain and I’ve paid to have it snaked on 3 occasions which were well over the price of this machine. I wasn’t sure on which one to get but after buying the 1/2”x 100ft machine I know now that with this machine and cable you wouldn’t want to snake any pipe much over 2 inches in diameter unless you’re able to get the machine within the 2 foot recommended distance from the pipe which unfortunately I wasn’t. (Anything over 2 inches I would suggest going with the 3/4” cable). Even though I couldn’t get the recommended 2 foot from the pipe it still worked. When the plumber snaked my drain they only used the spiral head and had me run water and they called it good. 4 months and then 6 months after that it was clogged again and they had to come back for another $200 each time. This machine comes with a piece that you can attach that has 2 pieces that stick out about 1 1/2 that I decided to run down the pipe after the spiral head and I could feel it grabbing onto something. After pulling it out I discovered it had wrapped a ridiculous amount of hair (appeared to be dog hair) around the tip and cable. Now the drain is working better than it has in the 7 years we’ve lived here. There’s not much information on how to use the machine but since I had to help the plumber all 3 times I had an idea of how to use it but I did learn to go slow turning the machine on and off as you feed the cable so it doesn’t twist and kink. I definitely recommend this machine and the only thing that I wish it had come with would be a scraper head for 2 inch pipe which if it clogs again I’ll be purchasing but It comes with 2 scraper heads for 3 inch pipe. This machine is well worth the money and I would also like to mention that you don’t want to use the retractable function to wind the cable back into the drum. It doesn’t wrap it properly and it’s much easier to push it by hand back into the drum. It doesn’t take much effort to push it in and it wraps back in perfectly. Hope this helps others.

I never got to use it, it wrapped up on the inside and tangled up and I couldn't get it back in after i pulled it out a couple ft.,it's a piece of crap and no one at Amazon would replace it,could never get a hold of anyone.Amazon should give me my money back or send me another one.

I bought this unit hoping to pull some roots clogging my house sewer lines near the main Street drain surrounded by huge ficus trees among many others. That’s over 75ft from the house cleanout. I had a Cobra machine before that wasn’t easy to use . It was a struggle for years with releasing and retracting the cables that used to twist, bend, and tangle every time it hits hard objects in the lines. I had to change cables many times. The barrel that hosts the cable was enclosed and used to accumulate lots of water during the cable recycling that wasn’t easy to drain,…etc. Until I bought This Vevor 100ftx1/2” . In the beginning I was worried to learn a new unit considering the urgency we had in the house with a very slow situation to none of the draining flow in the lines. With a little reading of the manual, i took a chance to use the new unit right away. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to use. I went in automatically with easy, with my hand guidance of course. No cable bending, twisting, or tangling. It hit the roots, I could feel a little struggle, and cut them right away very smoothly…, and when I heard the unclogging sound ( wishhhh…) it gave me immediate relief. In just few minutes the house was back in good drainage shape. Thanks to this machine, truly! Also, being seated on good size wheels, it was so easy to move it around, from the day I received in the front, to rolling it in the back, to storing it in the shed after I finished the job. And the cable being exposed to the view, not trapped in a barrel , I could see that no water accumulation in the bottom, no twisted or bent cables, and it was recycled back into the cylinder in a very neat and uniform way, compare to the cobra that was a nightmare to retract its cable back into the barrel. I highly recommend this unit.

This Snake is almost exactly like the one I have rented from Home Depot for $100 dollars. I have used it so far 5 times and it worked just like the ones from Home Depot. For all those "do it your selfers" this is a good investment. It has paid for it self and is now saving me money.
