This is the first liquid eyeliner that I have been fully impressed with! I love this. I've been using it for almost a week now.     • Where has this been my whole life?!
I have tried every style/type/brand (cheap to pricey) out there and have never found the right one. Call me Goldilocks, but I'm picky because my eyes are hooded and requires a lot of effort to get a nice wing or just a smooth line. Felt pens are so finicky and dry out so fast and I never could get a consistent line without the ink stalling in the tube. A stylus and using a gel in a container, great control but not the matte/sharp finish I was wanting. I think the secret is this ink-well type of liquid liner. While I don't have as much control as a gel with stylus, I have pretty great control and get a great line and dense color that doesn't smudge or go anywhere. The price is amazing for what you and how well it works. For me, this formula was waterproof enough (if you sweat, this does flake a wee bit but I had to be sweating a lot) and it took an oil-based eye remover to get it off. It does dry quickly so you have to work fast. I had a damp q-tip on hand for some touchups. I was able to get clean, smudge-free lines, no fakes/fall out, and because I have hooded lids, smudging and smearing is a given but this didn't do that. It stayed where I put it. And because it's an ink-well style eyeliner, I had could manage a consistent line. I do wish the brush was a little shorter for allow for better control but for the most part, this is a winner and I'm happy I stumble across it. I have tried every eyeliner there is an none compare to this. I always put black eyeshadow over it to blend it a bit which is why the line looks a bit smudged. This stuff stays on all day. It doesn’t flake or smear or rub off. It is easy to put on and has a very bold color. If you like a tight straight line, this is for you. I prefer a blended look so I put eyeshadow over it but the eyeliner stays all day (unlike eyeshadow). ... show more

Formula: This eyeliner has a ball inside the tube when shaking it up. The formula reminds me of Maybelline Stiletto, which I like! I prefer this type of formula over Revlon Colorstay Connect the Dots. Both Covergirl and Maybelline can flake off if I rub into them. If I don’t touch it, it lasts all day without smudging. It’s very easy to remove, hassle-free. I can remove it cleanly with just water and no raccoon eyes! When you want to draw a thin line, make sure to remove the excess liquid because this Covergirl applicator can get pretty wet and runny. Applicator: The applicator is probably the thinnest point I have tried so far. While it is impressively thin, it is too bendy/flexible for drawing wings and too thin for drawing throughout lids. Unfortunately, I won’t repurchase since it doesn’t suit my needs. It might have been perfect if it was firm. It seems like a felt tip but is it? I never used a brush tip before so I’m unsure. Other thoughts: Maybelline Stiletto is easier to fill in my lids but it’s a little thick to create a wing. I have to use 2-3 types of eyeliner to get a decent cat eye (I’m terrible, I know). I use NYX Curve Liner or Milani Eye Tech Perfection liquid liner to outline and “stamp” the wings. Those do not stay moist long so that’s where Covergirl was supposed to come in to fix it (but tip is too flexible).     • Not smudge proof or waterproof
This is NOT smudge proof or water proof. I have tried it 3x now and each time, I have made sure not to blink - ton or touch it for at least 5 min so it dries. And within 1-2 hrs, just normal eye moisture (not even sweating!) causes it to smudge and end up on the upper eyelid. Plus the brush is so small, it requires a few strokes for the appropriate thickness and that means more opportunities for a crooked line. This is the best liquid eyeliner. I prefer the matte, 320 Major Matte Black. It dries quick and it’s very matte. The brush is very soft felt and flexible. It’s perfect for making symmetrical lines and wings. You can make the thinnest lines or build it up. The only issue I’ve had with this eyeliner is that the product lasts longer than the brush does. Good, but wow they don't give you much! I thought half of this weird shape would be the jar of eyeliner, but no, more than half is just the application wand. So you get a tiny tub of eyeliner and a nice wand. The felt tip is very good, flexible, soft. I suck at applying eyeliner so I'm still getting used to this. I wouldn't really recommend it for beginners honestly; or at least, if you really want liquid eyeliner, have your good makeup remover handy!
