Purchase this item to have any in the event of a plumbing issue. When it came time to use mechanical held hand pipe dredger the coil was loose. Didn’t come out or in unless manually polled. Never worked as it was intended. I took it apart in hopes of repairing with no success.

This thing is amazing it truly is automatic. You don't have to set there and cream it down yourself. It'll take you a second. Maybe to figure out how to do it because you don't push the tab all the way down. You gotta push it like halfway. But it will feed itself and being able to put a drill on it, oh wow. It's a couple dollars more, but it's well worth the money. Trust me, buy it.

We were able to clear our HVAC drain instead of installing a pump. The auto feed one means is automatically pushes out the snake and pulls it back in as you crank the wheel. With the manual one, you’d have to pull out and push the metal snake back in with one hand. We really liked being able to use the drill to feed it in and even with the auto feed, it took four hands due to the awkward angle at which we had to access the pipes. It seems like it will come in handy again for a toilet or sink. I also like having the plastic guard since we scraped up one toilet with a different metal snake previously and I’d prefer not to damage the toilet.

Easy to use, worked great. Did the job in no time and fixed what the $220 waste of money plumber didn't do. Hadvto take sll the pipes out from under the kitchen sink but figured out what the "plumber" didn't do right, cleaned it out and got the pipes put together as they should have been. Bathtub I had to go down 3 or 4 times which was actually pretty easy and yippy, got all the hair and crud pulled out and did my bsthroom sink with same tool. Very pleased, will never call an overpriced plumber or hvac dude ever again.

I have used many of these devices in the past and this is the best constructed & featured unit that I have encountered. The 3 star rating was due to price only. Excellent for home use!! I have even used it to unclog my Miele vacuum cleaner hose.

Couldn't get it to feed on it's own. But was able to hand feed and it worked. Probably better to hand f see no bigger than the snake is. Well worth what the price. Hand feed doesn't mess up the plumbing.

The instructions were appreciated albeit obvious. Kept the cord feed near drain opening and tightened bolt. But this thing came alive in my hand!!! It jumped and turned and shot apart one piece at a time. Pulled the remaining cord out of the drain by hand so I can finish this task and install a new drain cover.
