Features

  • Sturdy and Durable: Crafted with high-quality cedar wood measuring 0.74 inches thick, combined with precise dovetail joinery, creating a hive that is both sturdy and long-lasting. Designed for outdoor use, capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions, ensuring reliability for long-term use.
  • Transparent Bee Windows: Equipped with acrylic transparent windows, allowing for easy observation of bee and hive conditions without the need for frequent disturbance. Ventilation ports ensure airflow inside the hive, reducing the growth of harmful substances and maintaining hive health.
  • Full Beeswax Coating: The hive exterior is coated with a layer of beeswax, creating an environment close to the bees' natural habitat. Additionally, ABS hive frames coated with beeswax attract and stabilize the bee colony.
  • Simple Installation: Carefully designed dovetail joints not only ensure the structural integrity of the hive but also make the installation process simple and quick. Even users new to beekeeping can easily assemble and maintain it.
  • Superior Spacious Design: The interior of the hive is spacious, equipped with 10 medium frame lure hive frames and 10 deep frame brood boxes, providing ample space for bee growth and activity. This design helps increase colony productivity and honey yield.

  • This is a great starter bee hive.
I think a lot of people don't realize that this is a great hive to get into bee-keeping, especially at this price point. Most complaints stem from it's craftsmanship and putting it together. I put it together in about a hour. Really, all you need is wood glue. Because I have a brad nailer I used that in conjunction with the wood glue; but really wasn't necessary. I bought bees wax after the hive was complete. I used it to seal all the tiny crevices; but I used it mostly to seal off the removable 'viewing door'. Personally, it's a novelty and I have zero interest in it. If you want to try your hand at Bee-keeping at a very fair price, buy this hive along with some wood glue. You can always buy more expensive hives later. ... show more

  • Buy this if you’re a pro carpenter with 10 hours to waste
The media could not be loaded. The ironic part of this purchase is that I would have never known how awful this was if I didn’t accidentally purchase two boxes in my cart. None of the dovetails lineup. I tried and removed multiple times. It’s now together as you can see, but the screen provided is way too large on multiple sides and the wood isn’t flush—because the dovetails aren’t aligned so there’s a major air gap on the backside. Look at the wood—looks like a beaver did the sanding with its teeth. It’s dipped in way too much wax—so it will be everywhere in your shop as you handle it. The other bee box, no association whatsoever and the first I ever assembled went together with none of these issues. None. ... show more

  • Upgrade rating to 4, Vevor sent some windows
Vevor sent the windows but it took a couple of months. Windows have 2x3 pattern of vent holes which are not beneficial as they could allow other bugs entry to the hive. Bees may close them over with propylis, or they may be big enough to let bees exit, I’ll try them to see, as I do not see their purpose. As an improvement, the windows should be located on the end-plates of the hive both ends so activity between frames can be seen. Windows on the sides are okay, but on the ends would be better, or on all four sides. The clear acrylic windows are mandatory parts for this hive to function. They did not come in the box with the rest of the parts. Can’t use hive without the windows. Main reason for 1-star rating. Probably 4 star if all parts were in the box. Also, the windows are only on one side. It would be better if they were on both sides so inspections can be more informative if the keeper can see both sides. End windows might be best as you could look between frames. Issue would be maintaining some sort of lifting handle groves so boxes can be lifted and moved. Also, bottom board should be set up for screened bottom board with slot for mite and beetle board or a mineral oil tray. One side and one end window would be a great compromise. ... show more

  • WHAT'S TO COMPLAIN ABOUT?
As an experienced bee keeper I THINK THIS IS A BRGAIN AT A GREAT PRICE Everything came as shown. Every one of the 100 pieces of the frames fit without need of any adjustment, and those complaining about nails, no nails required, just use wood glue. As for the windows, I have had other boxes with glass windows that I liked, so I hot melt glued glass on he inside. Otherwise either don't open them or pay more $ for another box without windows. At 44 pounds it shipped free across country in 7 days. ... show more

  • Shoddy workmanship, no customer service
Boards came cracked and were still wet with something. The comb was dirty. And missing hardware. I have contacted customer service, but they do not respond. Too bad I waited for bee season to open this up, because I WOULD HAVE RETURNED! BUYER BEWARE. Looked like a quality control reject from somewhere else. ... show more

  • Cheaper and works
Honestly me and my girlfriend put this together in no time. Didn't need the help, but it was nice to have. Purchased stainless steel nails for the frame. I used an inch nail and worked great. The entire thing looks great not going to lie. I doubt I use the door window thing much. As you open and close it it loosens the screws holding it so it's kinda a gimmick. Probably would have been better to use nut and bolt if they wanted to go that route. Overall for the price it's a good product. ... show more

  • Poor cuts, poor quality wood poor quality waxed
Where should I start! The side panels are cracked thru 2 of them from one joint to the middle - so & 8 inches . One tenen is broke off 30% of it at the very top of the box. The wax brushing was done in haste and shows none of the wood fit snug together to build the comb trays. Definitely upset I paid so much and the spent 7 hours trying to fix it so I could use it. ... show more
