Features

  • HEAVY-DUTY STAINLESS STEEL- The fermentor and condenser keg of the whiskey distilling kit is built with food-grade stainless steel material, ensuring long years of use. It features 5.5 US Gal real capacity, able to distill 21 Liters of raw material, by heating to boiling selectively, and then cooling to condense the vapor.
  • EFFICIENT CONDENSATION TREATMENT- This Alcohol kit adopts the red copper coiled-tube with rapid thermal conductivity assures promising cooling performance, together with a large contact area with the coolant, providing a rather low temperature of distilled product. During the condensation process, an additional circulating pump facilitates the expedited water flow of the condensing agent.
  • CONVENIENT TEMPERATURE MONITOR- The whiskey making kit comes with a precise thermometer with a dual-display of Celsius and Fahrenheit on the lid, for easy monitoring of real-time alcohol temperature, and better temperature control during the distillation process.
  • DEPENDABLE WITH SECURE SEALING- Two lifting handles on the side facilitate the convenient movement. Four quick buckles, along with the silicone gasket inside the lid, facilitate the enhanced sealing. A multifunctional one-way air evacuation valve is available, and 2/3 of the water is added to it to help release air when fermenting the grain (the gas can only get out).
  • VERSATILE HEATING METHODS- This home distilling kit is brilliant for both beginners and experts. It is perfect for distilling fruit wine, water, purifying water, distilling brandy. The thickened fermentor bottom is suitable for all kinds of heating methods, including gas stoves, ceramic stoves, electric coil stoves, etc.

Description

Stainless Steel Pot Both of the fermentor and condenser keg are of reliable sturdiness and hygiene. The 5.5 US Gal capacity enables the kit to distill up to 21 liters of raw material. Copper Condenser Tube The condenser adopts an open-typed cooling method, featuring a coiled tube, for a larger contact area with water coolant. The condenser tube is built with red copper, which is corrosion-resistant, with an excellent cooling effect. Efficient Circulating Pump An additional circulating pump is available to ensure an expedited water flow of the condensate circulation. The flowing water enters through the lower inlet and drains from the upper outlet. Convenient Thermometer The upgraded built-in thermometer can monitor the temperature in real-time, during fermentation or distillation. With a double display of Celsius and Fahrenheit, it can measure temperatures up to 200?, or 400?. Well-Designed Components Lifting handles attached to the side of the bucket sustain a large amount of tension. Four quick buckles facilitate the enhanced sealing. One-way air evacuation valve involved for application in the grain fermentation process. Various Heating Methods The thickened bottom allows the pot still suitable for all kinds of heating methods, including gas, ceramic stove, electric coil stoves, etc. Perfect for distilling fruit wine, water, whiskey, plant extracts, and so on. • Does the job, may require slight modifications
Size: 9 Gal/30L Color: Silver
Box arrived damaged, but everything inside was unharmed. I purchased the 30L electric version with stainless steel coils and tubing. Also, if you plan to ferment inside the still itself, as it does come with an airlock and a valve to place it on, you will need a threaded cap. Luckily I had a cap on hand. I filled the boiler with about 3 gallons of water and cranked up the heat. I placed the unit on the counter top and used the sink as my water reservoir for the cooling pump. I turned the pump all the way down and had no isdues with overflowing. I added some ice and then ice packs for extra cooling power. The water coming from the condenser was cold. The unit successfully distilled water, so it definitely gets plenty hot to do the job. I recommend running it in such a manner to clean out anything that might be left behind from manufacturing. I discarded the distilled water it produced due to an off smell and taste, I swished and spit. So definitely clean well if you intend on ingested anything produced. When I sealed everything up with just warm water that was producing slight amount of vapor, the seals did leak some, all of them. During distilation no leaks where seen since the pot is open to the atmosphere at the end of the condenser. But, if planning to produce alcohol, the seals may need upgrading just for safeties sake. All in all for the price I'm pleased. I may in the future upgrade, but I've already learned a lot. It came with a steamer tray, so I can produce my own peppermint oil from my garden out back. If nothing else I can add a spout and have a helluva tea brewer. ... show more

  • Would buy again!

This distiller works awesome. I bought it to distill alcohol from resin printer rinse tanks. It leaves the resin inside and distills the alcohol for reuse. Works awesome. Resin cleans up from the inside pretty easily.

  • Works well, but there are some caveats
Size: 9 Gal/30L Color: Silver
I got this to distill water because our city water here is pretty bad. It works very well in that regard. I've distilled about 50 gallons so far, and it seems to be holding up well. The resulting water quality has been great. But... There have been some problems, and there are some things you should know before you begin distilling your own water and other things. The latches that hold down the top are spot-welded to the body of the boiler, and one of them fell off. I am a mechanic, so riveting it back on was no problem. This may not be so easy for most people. The real problem is that this is an indicator of quality, and it does not inspire confidence. You have been warned. That said, when the lid is latched down, I have had no steam leaks. The other concern is that the flex-hose that connects the boiler to the condenser is fiddly. With proper seals and tightened down a lot tighter than I like, it doesn't leak, but it took some adjusting. A better hose would be nice, and I may try to find one someday. For now.... it works. The unit is thin stainless sheet metal, and the electric element at the bottom is not detachable. It is good at what it does, but for better efficiency, you will want to wrap it with an insulator, so you won't be wasting a lot of heat from the sides of the boiler. I wrap mine in wool cloth and it holds heat in pretty well. I also have a block of foam (that came with the unit) on top to hold the condenser off of the hot lid of the boiler. The electric element seems pretty good. It heats quickly and keeps it boiling at a good rate. I haven't checked the power draw, but it is probably in the neighborhood of 1500 - 1800 W If you haven't used a distiller before, you should know: Distilling water will give off a LOT of heat. It's great for keeping the house warm in winter. I have a little ice chest that I fill with water to use as a heat-sink, and a separate heat exchanger with a fan to disperse heat to the room. The water in the chest gets upwards of 150 f. In summer, I use the hot-tub on the back porch as a heat-sink. Distilling about 10 gal of water will heat the entire ~250 gal tub unbearably hot. It's best to be aware of this going in -- You definitely cannot just fill your kitchen sink with some water and think it will be enough. Finally, If you use it to distill any kind of liquor, (or anything else, really,) you absolutely MUST clean it very thoroughly before trying to distill drinking water with it. It will leave a horrible taste in the tubes that will make your water undrinkable. I use hot water with lye and other nasty chemicals to clean it, and it can take several washes to get it clean after distilling a batch of corn mash. It can be cleaned, but it takes some effort. ... show more
