Works great for what I am using it for! Easy assembly (don't count on instruction with item) if you watch a few videos. I find the thumper works best if set off to the side. Pot is light weight so I put a baking pan between the pot and the heat just so maybe it helps the life of the pot before it starts to get any holes in it. I plan to upgrade the thermometer just because it seems to stick around 190. I may find out it is fine. If so I just have an extra. If you plan on using this a lot you will eventually need to invest in more thread tape and possibly the rubber seals. All in all worth the money for a beginner. Highly recommend.

The media could not be loaded. Had this 13.2 gallon still come with assembly instructions, I would have given it 5 stars. Instead, it included a booklet covering contents and recipes, but no guidance on how to put everything together. This leaves buyers guessing which pieces go where, potentially adding hours to the setup time. That said, don’t let this discourage you as there are helpful videos on YouTube that walk you through the assembly process. Once you see it done, it's actually very straightforward. Overall, this is an excellent budget-friendly still. It even comes with extra seals and a water pump, which is a great bonus. I highly recommend it, especially for hobbyists getting into distilling. We are pulling 140-158P heads with Tails from our last run in the 3/4 filled thumper. Can't beat this price per performance. Happy Brewing!

(EDIT) - the outflow is too slow and really restricts the cooling of the coil. The outflow diameter needs increased to 1/2" with a properly sized bulkhead. If you are super handy, I highly recommend replacing the cooling pot altogether with a larger one, and setting it in a stand next to the boiler, with the outflow hole and the input holes at 3/4", and using an attachment on your kitchen sink to juzt slowly run the cold water through it straight from your sink. You could even let it drain into a large container to make more ice, water plants, wash stuff witb to avoid waste. Still feels like a great value for the price, just a little flawed- bought this for emergency water purification, and for my CPAP machine, in case of grid failure. we have emergency propane to last for a few months and a good stove. (I do have stuff to remineralize the water if we need it for consumption. I have salts, calcium, magnesium and know how much to use) the still came faster than I expected, is sturdier than I expected (especially for the price), and was packaged really well. while I don't need any of the brewing stuff, it all seems straight forward and if someone were using this to get started with such practices and was on the tightest of budgets, I can see how it could be useful. as for water, the setup took minutes and I'm pretty good to go whenever I need it. put it back in the box, and it's on the shelf with the rest of my emergency supplies. very please with the practicality and price
