My only complaint is that the hole and rubber gasket for the air locks aren't made real well. Have to be real careful when installing the air lock or the rubber ring will push through and you won't have a seal. Otherwise I love these things for making small batch wines and ciders.

I have used these for hot sauce, mead, fruit wine, and kombucha (with no air lock). No real complaints. The one airlock broke, they are rather thin. The vessel itself is sturdy and works great for what I need it to.

The glass is good and I believe is safe for pouring boiling liquids into if needed. Air locks work fine. I just prefer to use the style that's shaped kinda like a sideways "s." The seal on the plastic lids is very good. Everything is easy to clean and no odors nor flavors leach into the foods from the product. Only difficulty I ran into was a user error. If the air locks are pushed in too hard, they can cut the black gasket that holds them in place. Overall, good product. Would buy again.

The lids on these are terrible. The lids have a very small hole made for the grommets it brings. Sadly, those grommets are garbage. They break easily under the pressure of the Airlock being inserted. If you get proper grommets then you have the issue with the hole on the lid being too small. The also seal funny and don't provide the most confidence. I would not recommend this product if are fermenting in them.

These 1 gal jars are perfect for fermentation (especially for making hot sauce)!!! Very thick glass, sturdy plastic lids, and easy to use airlocks. I bought 8 total jars w/lids & airlocks, and a couple of the lids had some minimal warping. I contacted the manufacturer, and they promptly shipped me 2 brand new lids at no charge!! FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I would most definitely buy this product again.
