I've been keeping bees for 8 years with 20-25 colonies and finally decided to get a "real" bee jacket. This one is nicely ventilated and fits well. I'm 5'1" and 110 lbs and the Small fits me perfectly, I like my clothes a little big and that's how this fits. I figured out that the elastic on the hat part of the veil goes on the outside, sort of on my forehead. That made it fit well. I would like the hat to be a little bigger because I wear a baseball cap and it's too snug for that. But it does fit and stays on my head when I use the hat band elastic correctly. The zippers are sturdy and elastic strong. It's a nice jacket, well-made. Also, the customer service from the seller was outstanding. I originally ordered a Medium and it was too big. Amazon didn't have any Smalls so I contacted the seller. They were really helpful and offered to ship me a Small. Then, Amazon posted that they had Smalls available again so I just ordered from Amazon and returned my Medium to Amazon. But the seller was SUPER nice. You don't see great customer service very often anymore and the seller was outstanding. Overall, a great bee jacket. Highly recommend!

I opted for just the jacket/veil combo as a way to reduce gear as I really didn't see the need for wearing a full suit any longer when tending my own hives. The quality of this jacket is very good, though the thickness of the woven fibers ended up being much more dense than I anticipated which gives it a "heavy" feel. The ventilation is good, so long as you have a breeze, otherwise you feel as though you're wearing a warm jacket. I suppose it's a trade-off to have good sting protection vs. ventilation and coolness. The zippers are very sturdy and no issues with snagging or jumping off the teeth. The hat is elastic where it slides over your head and is snug on my 7-1/4 head but not uncomfortable. The veil material is also heavy-duty like the jacket and so tends to be a little stiff as you turn your head. From a design perspective, I think I would use a much lighter and supple fabric for the lower band of the veil in order to allow easier movement while maintaining the stiffness of the main section around the head. Overall I'm very pleased with the quality of this jacket and veil.

Love this jacket. Not only is it vented for air, but the 360 degree view in the veil is the best. The only problem with it was the purchase itself. I ordered one for myself. It was around $72.00. Then I ordered one as a gift in Medium, also approx. $72.00. The second time around they sent me the wrong size. A large. There was no option to exchange for a medium. Only "Would you like us to send you the same exact thing?"... Well, "NO, I thought... I don't want a Large again...I want the medium I ordered. So I sent it back, and tried to order the medium, but when I went to reorder the price went up nearly $20.00 more!!! I was so mad. My friend really wanted this, so as Christmas neared, I got off my wallet, and paid the $20. extra. If Amazon would have sent the right size to begin with, It would have been all good. So technically, I give 1 star to the idiot who sent me a Large when I clearly ordered a medium. . . and went through all that trouble to send it back and reorder, costing me another $20. when they raised the price overnight. If there was an option to exchange properly, where I could explain... no I don't want the same exact, WRONG size again... Just exchange for a medium, at the price I already paid, I would have been very happy and given 10 stars... because this is a very excellent product...

The positive. I love the jacket. It fits my small frame well and gives me full protection from bees stings. The negative. I do not like the hat veil. It’s constantly pushing my glasses down, causing my hair to fall in my eyes and the veil just seems to obstruct my vision. After wearing my daughter’s jacket that has a fencing veil I find I prefer that type however, my daughter’s jacket is a medium and two large for me. I wish the seller would offer a fencing veil that I could switch out for my hat style on the jacket that I have. I hate that I have spent over $100 on a jacket that I’m not happy with only because of the type of veil it has.
