The main purpose of this bike for me was to assist in getting my camp supplies and hunting gear transported to a location where my pickup truck could not go. This is my story and evaluation of how the Velowave Prado S performed in the various duties I required of it: 1) Camp was set up 1/2 mile up a hill from where I parked the pickup. I welded together a hitch and bolted it to my game cart. I then attached this bike trailer hitch to the optional rear basket: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0038LPOD6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details here's a link to the optional basket set: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BF9XVSYX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details With the game cart hitched up to the bike, I hauled approximately 1,500 lbs. of tent, tent stove, firearms, ammo, food and water and various other supplies 1/2 mile up that hill in about 15 round trips. A total of about 15 miles towing a trailer (7.5 miles of that uphill with extra weight) took the battery down to about 30% - not bad. So #1 - getting everything packed into camp goal - SUCCESS! The bike did great - so well in fact that I may need to patent my design on the hitch design that I fastened to my game cart ;-) 2) I attached this gun rack to the rear basket: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000AVVLT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details This held my rifle securely, but there is a caution here. As the rear basket is aluminum, the rails started to crush under the steel bolts of the gun rack, so it was difficult to the keep the rack fastened tightly without further damaging the rear basket. I am still looking for a better solution, but haven't found one yet. All that said, I had no problems hauling my rifle and pack around for several miles so overall SUCCESS! 3) We were successful in our hunt and were able to haul an elk (admittedly, it was a small one) with no problems in my converted bike trailer/game cart for a few miles back to camp. SUCCESS! 4) 10 days later when it came time to move camp out, the bike again performed brilliantly. This time hauling all the weight was downhill and the battery went from 80% down to about 60% over about 12 total trips. Again: SUCCESS! Overall positives: • Easy assembly and use, simple display and controls. • Power and performance exceeded my expectations – this thing just did its job and did not struggle • The fat tires and step-through design made this easy to mount/dismount and control. What I wish was better: Even with the fat tires, this bike seems to be designed primarily for an urban environment where I believe it would be perfect. With power assist even at the lowest level, it wants to move at a minimum of 5-6mph. This was mildly annoying when I was on rough terrain and only wanted to move about 3 mph. I need to note that there is a feature where you can hold a button down and it will move at walking speed (about 2.5mph) but holding this button for any length of time is impractical and uncomfortable, so it’s not really an option. Also, with very slow speed in mind, I would prefer a lower gearing option for off road use. The lowest gear available on this bike is comparable to a mid/high gear on a conventional 18 speed mountain bike. So, with the lowest comfortable speed at around 5 mph, this isn't the optimal hunting/offroad bike. In summary, this bike held up to some pretty high demands that I put on it and for the price I don’t think there is anything better I could’ve gotten that would have achieved the goals I had for this year’s hunting camp as well as this bike did for me. ... show more

This will be my third e-bike i own. Other 2 are a few years old, went on the market for a new addition to the fleet for my daughter, I am very impressed with the build quality and components of this bike, i spent hundreds of dollars on upgrades on my other bikes to get what this bike is out the box. 5 stars on that packaging, the CNC foam packaging was awesome, kept all the parts stable and safe, scratch free, few zipties and it was out, no shaking the box repeatedly upside down to get it to come off...no horrible staples holding the box lid to gouge me as i unbox. Everything was packaged neatly, came with a full set of decent tools that i will keep with the bike..thats a bonus. Battery came at 71% charge so i could ride it soon as it was assembled. Installation was really less then 15 mins, spent more time unboxing and checking parts. all the tools worked great it came with, didnt need to go in my tool box only for some side cutters to cut tie wraps and a knife to cut the foam protecting the handle bars. I didnt need to look at the instructions, it was very simple. The welds, paint, parts and overall look of the bike was great, Hydraulic breaks on a bike in this price range...such a nice thing to have, no adjusting needed..and so smooth to break, and the brake handle is perfect on the pull. derailer required no adjustment. The BMX style handlebars are very comfortable, the step thru makes it easy for someone shorter, my daughter is 5' and she has absolutely no issues with the hieght of the bike..not sure why so many complaints about the bike to big for shorter people..if your a midget, then get a side car so you can be ridden around. The seat is something i upgrade on every bike..not needed on this bike..its perfect! wide, soft..got a decent bounce. Forks suspension is a bit soft, i had to lock it out, or you feel everything. Takes to the road and trails rather well. The rims are nice! easy to clean, hate spokes!...decent quality tire as well..should get a few hundred miles out of them easy, before changing them to a street tread, which is better for our use. Has spare bolts and threads all over the frame for upgrades later on..thats super nice to have. Bike came via fedex, 2 day shipping..astoundingly fast..ordered wed night..was here friday afternoon.. The light it came with is super bright! as bright as my aftermarket light on my bike, and no need to charge it, as it uses the bike battery power..always there. hit and hold the + for on and off..figured that out just by trying it. There are very few cons, dont like the handle bar grips, very narrow, and the texture can hurt your hands after awhile, that will have to be changed out. it doesnt go 28mph like the claims..i tried..my daughter tried..best we could get is 26mph..fast enough. Not much else to complain about. I thought i would dislike the thumb throttle, but i cant list it as a con, because its not as bad as i thought it would be.. ... show more
