Clean with a soft cloth (no steel wool). For limescale, soak in white vinegar or lemon juice, then rinse. What can be done to make the fountain last longer and be more durable? Disassemble and clean the pump impeller every 2 weeks. Why regularly replace the white filter and black sponge in the pump? Replace every two weeks for effective purification and to prevent contamination. Are there any other recommendations for use? Even a stable fountain won't stop playful splashes.     • Best Cat Fountain I’ve Ever Bought
I have two of these fountains now. With two, I can simply switch them out when the water gets low and it’s time to clean, which is easy peasy. When it’s time, I set up the new fountain and then put the old one in the dishwasher. I clean the pump by hand. Once the pump and the fountain are clean and dry, I just put it all together and put it up on the shelf until it’s time to switch them out again, usually 5-7 days later. This has saved me 30 - 60 minutes of cleaning every week. This fountain is whisper quiet, attractive, and most importantly, my cat love it and drinks regularly from it. The pumps last as long as promised. I’ve replaced the pumps twice in two years (once for each fountain). It’s the best fountain I’ve ever bought. I love the blue light on the pump—I can see the water level easily and the water looks clean. Pet loves. I love. Easy easy easy. ... show more

Stainless steel is a plus for durability. Pump works well. We have two kittens that love the fountain. Definitely beats having the plastic fountain bowls that eventually build up scaling that is hard to remove. This bowl cleans up nicely. Filters are just a little pricey, but it's worth it. ****Update 4/25/2026: The blue LED light stopped working. Contacted company for replacement. We shall see. The other issue is an annoying buzzing sound requiring the upper tray to be moved around until it stops making noise.     • Easy to maintain and my cat loves it
This fountain is such an upgrade from others I've had that I purchased two more for friends' cats. It's easy to set up and is quiet except for the sound of trickling water, so it doubles as very pleasant white-noise generator if you're into that. The fountain only takes a few moments to clean and refill, and the instructions provided are actually very helpful, which makes it easy to do frequent water changes. A couple filters are included and replacements aren't expensive. I change the filter every two weeks as recommended, and I rinse everything and refill every 4-5 days to keep it fresh. My cat is a water monster and LOVES his fountain, and so these events are eagerly anticipated at our house. I've had ours in service for several months now, and It's worked flawlessly. ... show more

The water capacity is awesome, clean and refill it every 8-10 days. Easy to set up and it’s quiet for the most part, sometimes the plate gets moved a little and it makes a rattling sound which is annoying. Way higher quality than my crappy plastic one before.     • Bad design flaws
I previously owned their plastic version which I was very happy with other than the container being plastic (though the top was still stainless steel). Well I misplaced that thing when moving. This time opted for an all stainless steel model trying to reduce the microplastics right? Well. There are really ONLY 3 MAJOR flaws this one has that the plastic one doesnt. . Some people report water leaking out, but that is only because you put the top on wrong (if looking straight at the seethrough face, the slits should go on the right and left, NOT front and back). 1. I understand that its hard to weld stainless steel, but putting the pump in and holding it down with ONLY TAPE? Come on. That tape will fall off pretty quickly considering you will constantly be picking up the thing to refill it (more on that below). Its already on there pretty flimsy, and it must be aligned properly for the water to flow correctly not damaging the pump. A suggestion. If welding is too expensive, try installing some stainless steel brackets that wedge themselves in between the walls of the container. 2. The top lid only has 2 slits on the sides for the water to escape down (as opposed to many holes all over the top in the previous models for the water to drain quickly). This is a massive issue, because the water draining into the bottom compartment is restricted, meaning you cannot just pour water into the top part to refill the container. This means you will have to take the whole thing appart and make a huge mess every time you need to add water. There are no tabs or knobs to take things appart, and you will be forced to use your fingets to lift up by the area where the water touches. So you better not have any lotions or perfumes on your hands as cats can easily be harmed by that stuff when ingested. Resolution: bring back the old lid where you have LOTS of holes on top allowing you to just pour watter on top. 3. The LED that is supposed to illuminate the container from within to show you the water level is completely useless. It is waay too faint. The reason for this is because in their last model, the container was white plastic, and so the led light reflected off of all the walls to light up the thing from within very well. Because this one is stainless steel, the light doesnt bounce off the walls and even if they used the same LED bulb, it is completely useless, meaning you will never know how much water is left untill the unit is almost empty and it starts flashing red (ideally you want to add water before the thing starts flashing red). Can be fixed by putting more leds in or positioning them properly to illuminate the seethrough glass. Id give it 2 stars because it does what it is supposed to do in the most non practical inconvenient way. But then nobody clicks 2 star ratings to read. So 1 star. This is an example of if it isnt broken, dont fix it. The previous model was much more superior in every way but one: the body wasnt stainless steel. I'd return this one, and get the old model, but returning this is too much hassle. As a side note, if the issues I mentioned were fixed, Id be willing to pay $50 instead of $30 for a full stainless steel fountain that works. ... show more

I love that this Cat Water Fountain is all metal. So far the pump is doing a great job but I read that this is a very quite unit, I have to disagree. I have to tap it a lot because it is loud. It's easy to clean and a great size for all my cats. It is an affordable Cat Fountain. If my Cat's like it, I like it. I would highly recommend this item. Easy to put together. ... show more

    • Easy to clean, keeps water cold, and no pump noise
Update 3: almost a year in, and still works great. I did notice these days that when I leave the filters unchanged for two weeks, and I haven’t cleaned it (I know, bad me), it starts to only drip water from the flower. But once I clean it and replace the filters, it works amazing once again. Update 2: about 3 months in, still running beautifully Update: not a big deal for this product in itself and won’t change my rating, but my cat is a menace and managed to knock out all the water in a night😭 one thing that could be improved though, is the durability of the mat. There’s now a few inches rip in it due to my cat’s antics :( I was skeptical about this product, but so far it has completely held up to my expectations. Below, I’ve reviewed multiple parts of the product, and I will update this review if anything happens to change. The very best part of this is the detachable parts and very few parts, which makes it very easy to clean. For the tube, you’ll probably need a little wand tool, but very easy nonetheless. The tube is plastic, so that is the one thing I would have liked to be different, such as making it metal. The pump is plastic, which I don’t know how that could be changed or not. But it’s a small price to pay though for an otherwise stainless steel product that is beautiful. The light on the fountain works as it should, but it doesn’t light up the whole water level bar equally. You can still see where the water level is at from a distance, but there’s a distinct cutoff where the light is bright and the light is dimmer that you can see in other people’s photos. It’s not a big deal to me and seems hard to make even with the way the light is on the pump - I love just having a nice light there and an area to easily see how full the water is. The tube inside really has helped me out a lot though. It sticks through the layers and connects to the pump, and this thwarts my unruly cat from knocking off the top of the fountain to make it not work as well, as she’s done in the past lol. I did see water still out of the fountain, but it was only on the mat, and that’s the fault of my cat, not this product. Another thing I’ll note is that normally my cat’s water dish is moved around in a 180 or angled sideways when she knocks water off. I can tell with how it’s positioned on the mat that it didn’t move at all, with an almost full water level, and that was great for me. She has altered the lid position with her antics, which I can tell because you can hear the pump as a result, but so far it’s easy to adjust. Something I wasn’t expecting or looking for was how well this stainless steel keeps water cold! So far, I’ve had it for about 2 days, and the water is still pretty much ice cold like how I put it in. I’m sure the running water also attributes to this. It’s very quiet. It is not silent, you can still hear some water running just a little bit, but the pump is completely silent which is amazing!
