We sought out a "smart" deadbolt/doorknob combo not only because the latching mechanism on our old doorknob unfortunately broke, but also because my fiancé and I are firefighters, and it can get quite annoying to have to sit there and manually lock the deadbolt from the outside with the key when we are in a hurry to leave, and I hate to admit that there have been a few times we've left the door unlocked. We are re-staining the door soon too, so we had it in mind to get a black/dark combo that will look nice with the door. I happened upon this one and loved the look and all the features, especially the fingerprint option, since my grandmother lives with us and has some declining fine motor skills so keypads can be difficult for her to use. I also liked that it has an auto lock feature, and that even if we opted not to use it, we can simply lock the door using an app on our phone, even while away from home. My fiancé installed it with minimum difficulty except a small hiccup getting the strike plate to align perfectly, which initially was causing the locking feature to fail unless we were manually locking the deadbolt from inside. However, after 10 minutes of making some slight adjustments, he got it to work. It's only been a few days, but we are loving our new smart doorknob/deadbolt. With the auto lock feature, which we set to lock after 3 minutes, we now don't even have to give locking the door a second thought, which has been nice when we're on the way to a fire call, or when I'd have to double-check at night that the door was locked before going to bed. I was a bit skeptical that the KK Home app on the app store only has 2.5 stars, however, we honestly have had no issues so far with the app itself, any connectivity issues, etc. Between the lock and the app, everything has been seamless and easy to use! My only complaint is that some of the black coating is chipped off of the inside part of the door handle that we noticed as soon as the handle was installed, and we are unsure why. Having a "wear and tear" type of problem right from day one has me concerned that there is a quality issue with the coating and that it may not hold up in the long run with daily use. That is the only reason I have given 4 stars instead of 5. If Veise stands by their products and is willing to send a replacement interior door handle that isn't chipped, I will happily change my review to 5 stars right away! I really hope a rep can reach out to me and let me know if this is possible, I'd really appreciate it. Because otherwise, we really do love this product, it's been great so far and we hope to enjoy it for the next several years to come. UPDATE 8/8/25: The seller reached out to me immediately to confirm the issue, and they feel the damage likely happened during transport. They did not hesitate to offer sending a new replacement right away, which I received just a few days later. I am impressed with their customer service and happy to know they care about the quality of their products. For that, I have changed my review from 4 stars to the full 5 stars. Really great door lock. The first one we ordered had a difficult time staying connected but we called customer service and Aaron was such a great help. Sent us out a new one that arrived the next day. The new one works great and my 6 year old loves the fingerprint feature! Thanks Aaron!

These look nice and were not too hard to install. The only down side is the handles are a little "sharp" the edges are very crisp, so they can feel a little too sharp in the hand. They are a good value for the money. I wasn't sure if one wi-fi box would run two doors, but it does. I have this system on two doors, and I can run both doors from my phone with one box. ... show more

I did have an issue with the handle where it wouldn't pull the latch all the way in but I contacted support and they sent out a replacement handle immediately, which works perfectly. I absolutely love this purchase and so happy I brought it during cyber Monday on sale. The black matte color looks so elegant on my outside front door as well as inside my entrance way. I love that it says “door closed” when I close it. Don’t know how many times I get in my car and can’t remember if I locked the car thinking of all the errands I have to do. Hearing it reminds me that I did. It also lights up green when fully locked. Neighbor took about 35 minutes to install, so it was very easy according to him. Haven’t used the remote yet. The fact that it has not only a changeable code entry and key entry is wonderful. Having both options relieves any worry. Only drawback is hard to see key hole being black but it’s my fault for not putting on my front door light, even when I think I will be back before dark. Totally recommend.
