I have been using this air conditioner over one week. So far, everything is fine and there is no problem. It comes with every accessories we need. Its cooling speed is pretty fast. Its timing function is convenient and, I don't need it to work all night when I go to bed, so I can set the time it runs, and it will automatically stop at a specific time. It comes with a remote control, and I can adjust the temperature, time, running mode, etc. This is a fully functional air conditioner and a good helper for cooling in summers. The media could not be loaded. This portable air-conditioner works effectively and seems to cool the small room well where I have it setup. The setup was relatively simple, but I have had trouble keeping the flexible exhaust hose connected to the window mounting. Another issue I'm having is the drain hose is not long enough to go out the window where the hot air vents, so I have to regularly monitor the bucket I have it draining into to make sure it's not overflowing. This unit is quite loud, and I don't think I'll be able to use it in my home office as I intended since it's too noisy for a small room where I'll be taking calls. The remote control seems to work well, and the controls are very simple to operate and it has been reliable with accurate temperature readings. You should know that the display panel uses white LEDs and is very bright, and can't be dimmed. I would not want to use it in my bedroom since it's so bright it casts shadows at night. It's so bright that it's actually difficult to read since it's like looking into a flashlight, but perhaps I'm more sensitive to lights than some people. ... show more

    • Compact Yet Powerful Air Conditioner That Can Hold Its Own During a Heatwave
I waited to assemble and test this air conditioning unit when Chicago was in the middle of a heat wave, because I could truly then measure its ease of setup and effectiveness in cooling an area. Regarding the assembly of the unit: It was a fairly straightforward process, but I noticed several inconsistencies between the parts of the unit described in the accessories listing, and the assembly diagrams listed within the instruction booklet. There weren't any issues I couldn't think my way through resolving, but it would have been nice if the names of parts matched the names listed each time they were referenced - and if each critical part was included in the initial accessory description, so I didn't have to second-guess my process. The unit was able to cool my main bedroom incredibly quickly. I initially had the temperature set to 78 degrees, and the room - which is a corner unit on the top floor of the building, with multiple windows - had lowered in temperature (I measured it via a different thermostat) from 85 degrees to 78 degrees within 45 minutes. The external outside temperature at that point was 93 degrees. A slight complaint is that I wish the drainage hose were longer. While I didn't need to worry about condensation on the first day I used the unit, the second day was warmer and more humid than the first - so I lowered the cooling temperature by one degree to 77 degrees. This was enough of a change for the unit to begin collecting water from the room, but I had to place a bucket under the hose to catch the water as the hose was too short to reach the window from the position where the unit was located. I'll note that the exhaust hose still had slack in it - so it was just the drainage hose that I wished had more length. That way, I could've ensured the lose led out of the window where the exhaust hose was placed. While the unit itself didn't produce a lot of audible noise in the room where it was placed, I did notice that it caused a vibration on the floor in the bedroom opposite of where it was being used. The noise wasn't too annoying, and was akin to a repetitive humming and deep vibration (almost like a white noise machine were being used, except it caused vibrations as well). This AC unit is a great addition to my apartment, as I can move it within the room where I placed the hose into a window, or I can wheel it so that it's blowing conditioned air down the hallway between several rooms - thus reducing the impact of the AC units I've placed in several of those rooms (the joy of living in a vintage apartment without central air conditioning). I was also able to lift this - albeit very slowly - up three flights of stairs to my unit, although I had to carefully drag it up each step. For a five-foot-tall woman who's barely 100 pounds, I was quite afraid when I saw the size of the box that contained this unit. Suffice to say that if I'm in the market for another portable air conditioning unit, this brand will be at the top of my list. ... show more
