Pros: Heats fast, no fumes, single "burner" takes less counter space, price seems good Cons: 7 power settings aren't all available in each mode, power cycles instead of being steady Induction cooking has the advantage of heating things quickly, like boiling some water for instance. It takes me between 10 and 15 minutes to get a pot of water boiling on my gas stove, but this induction cooktop did it in 6 minutes, so that's a real time saver. But after testing this out, I realize there are some aspects I don't care for much. The number one thing is that the cooking temps aren't flexible enough. There are 7 distinct settings but the different modes don't allow them all. The boil water mode, for instance, has only the 1800 watt setting. Once your water is boiling, it continuous boiling it furiously, so you have to select one of the other modes to get some choices that will calm it down. Doing that, I was able to run it down to the lowest setting which is around 170 (watts, I think). In that mode, the water will boil a little, then stop boiling, then boil again, off and on. And that's the 2nd thing that I don't like, it's kind of like how a microwave works, kicking on and off to simulate lower power. It's not that it's wrong, but I'm used to cooking with gas, so I like steady power. One thing that surprised me was that it takes more counter space than I expected. I know I listed the single burner size as an advantage, and it certainly is over a 2 burner model, but it's still larger than I expected. I was anticipating keeping this on the counter but changed my mind once I saw it, now it's tucked into a cabinet and I'll have to pull it out to use it. Another thing is it has a fan that makes some noise and when the food starts really cooking, the fan kicks into high gear and is even louder. I wouldn't say deafening and I understand they have to cool the thing internally to keep the circuits working safely, but still, it's louder than I'd wish. So you might question my 4 star rating given the couple of things I dislike, but I would say the price point is good and it will satisfy my desire for quickly boiling things that will make digging it out of the cabinet worth it. I took some cooking classes at a local store that had more sophisticated induction cookers (better temp control), but the price was so much higher that I think this cooker is a good alternative for occasional use. If I was cooking on it a lot, I'd pony up for a better model, but this will do for my needs. Correction to above "watts I think". The lowest setting is either 100 watts in power modes or 176 degrees F in temperature mode. The temperature mode starts at 176, then 212, 248,... on up to 518F.

Our cooktop broke and needed something to help with the cooking until we got a new cooktop. This single burner is extremely picky with the type of cookware it uses. Not all induction pots-pans will work. If you have anything better the single ply pot or anything above 8” wide at the base, the burner will shut off on you. Brands tested and results. All-clad D3, D5, D7, essential non stick will NOT work. Demeyere Atlantis and resto will NOT work Jenn-air stainless steel WILL work Cast iron Le Creuset 8” or smaller WILL work Lodge cast iron skillets WILL work

i love this appliance ?!. It really works for what i need it to do . it heats up extremely fast and the heating is very acurate and very controllable . it boils water extremely fast !. it's very easy to clean. It i usually just wipe it down a little after use .you will need an induction ready pot or pan ect to use the appliance it wil not work just any pan. most of the newer pans though have the abilty so you should be able to find them easily. i highly recomment this product .
