The Varun M26-2 48V e-bike is a really good value, well-built e-bike. This is one of the easiest multi-geared (21-speed), bikes that I have ever put together. The manual is not the greatest but the video in the Amazon description page makes assembling the bike easy and straightforward. The front fender might be a little tight fitting. It is supposed to be position such that the bracket is screwed in at the front of the fork and the fender is pointed to the rear of the bike. (I have seen some pictures where the fender is installed incorrectly and is pointing to the front of the bike. The factory did a good job of precalibrating the gears and all 21 of my gear speeds were selectable. The fully assembled bike with battery installed weight about 53 lbs. I wasn't impressed much with the owners manual. You really do have to visit Varun site or YouTube to view videos that show how to assemble and how to operate the e-bike. The bike has 4 selectable "speed" modes - 0=electric motor OFF, 1= pedal-assist (or throttle) LOW. For me, mode 1 makes the bike go about 10-12mph. 2= medium speed - around 15mph. And 3= high, about 20-21mph. I don't think the speed or force that you pedal regulates the motor speed but rather, pedaling ACTIVATES the motor and the speed that the motor goes is based on the mode you selected. So if you are in mode 3 when you start up your bike, you might find yourself accelerating to 20mph very quickly. I'm pretty sure that squeezing the brakes turns off the motor - so keep your hands very near the brakes at all times while riding.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this because it was a 24” frame and my daughter is a 9 yr old with a height of 4’9. I wanted pedal assist levels because we have some decent hills in our neighborhood that need assistance to get up. She was scared of the assist at first but I got her to turn it off and start pedaling up to a normal speed then hit the + button for level one assist and try pedaling a little then coast. She did it and got used to it in about 10 minutes and now asks if we can use “High” a lot. She likes to bomb the hill and I follow her with my speedometer equipped bike. She almost always gets about 22 MPH and can keep that up even after the hill! It might help that she only weighs in at 75 pounds but the 350W motor should be fine for her for years to come. The seat is almost all the way down and the handlebars are adjustable height which is a great feature! We made a deal that we wouldn’t “ride without pedaling” because it’s not transportation for us as much as it is family exercise. We average 35-45 minutes and 6-7 miles on our nightly rides and after 5 nights it still had 25% or more battery life. This bike arrived with some shopping damage which is beyond the seller’s control but they quickly made it right by sending the replacement parts and a small refund for our trouble of doing the work! A+ customer service from the seller in my opinion! Pros: - The disc brakes are great and stop quickly - The motor has plenty of power to assist pedaling - Top speed averages 20-22 MPH - Battery life is at least 40 miles with 80 pound rider - Battery charge indicator on battery pack and also bike controls. You could have a spare battery charging while you ride and know the level by pressing one button on the battery. - Very adjustable seat height - Very adjustable Handlebar height - Easy to assemble - Quiet drive system (tires are louder than motor) - 3 assist levels Cons: - No threaded inserts for water bottle cage (Had to use handlebar clamp style) - Fender mounting is pretty flimsy but works - No tail light (manufacturer could add one for like $5 for a red LED to increase safety) - Small bell included instead of a horn button Overall very good for what we need and a smaller adult would have great results with this 24” VARUN 350Watt e-bike. It’s great to know that the seller is willing to make things right and is responsive to customer service issues. Longevity updates to follow!

I'm not super knowledgeable about the ebike world, so I'm sure there are niche details I will be missing in my review. I have been biking a 20 min ride to get to and from work every day for the past 2 years with a normal bike, which was becoming a little tiresome on some days. All I was looking for was a cost-effective ebike that would help me with my trip when feeling tired. Got this one for a total of 410USD (including shipping) which I believe is an amazing price. I was able to mount it myself without help (although I would recommend the manufacturer make just a bit more detailed assembly videos, as some steps were skipped and I literally had zero idea on how to mount a bike, but figured it out with the manuals and assembly videos for other bikes). Battery lasts the whole week for me, throttle has a lot of power to gain speed or to go uphill at 4 or 5 assist without pedaling. And yes, given the weight of the package with the ebike, I would imagine shipping it back would be difficult. Cannot speak for experiences of others, but that's a thing with Amazon ebikes, maybe good to try to communicate with the manufacturer prior to purchase to ask about their policies when buying one. In my case, build quality looks good, I hope it will last as once again this will be my daily commuter, I will update as time goes by, but so far I have been extremely happy with my purchase :)
