Vantrue S1 with the Vantrue S1 Pro because of many new features, especially the ability to review and download the videos and photos onto my mobile phone. The cameras and cables were nicely organized inside an attractive package. I had to removed the existing cables because the new cameras had the USB-C connectors. Fortunately, I was able to use the old cable as a lead and pulled the new USB-C cable through the headliner of my Mini-Cooper in less than an hour. It took quite an effort to remove the old cameras because the 3M adhesive tapes. Once the new cameras were mounted, I was able to download the app on my phone and it was set up within minutes. The app set up was very simple by following the prompt step-by-step. I reviewed the videos and photos after the first week and found the quality was excellent for the ones captured during the day and very good during the night except the car trailing mine with its high beam activated. The cameras' wide angle lens captured a good field of view without much distortion. The camera would lock in the Event Recording Mode as if you had a collison. Since MIni-Cooper has a short wheelbase and relatively stiff suspension, the factory default setting of the G-sensor in all directions was too sensitive. As such, the cameras would trigger the Event Recording mode when my car hit a large bump on the road. After reducing the G-sensor sensitives a couple of trials, the nuisance triggered recordings have been greatly reduced. I also like the new voice assistance command capability to use voice to control the cameras after learning and remembering the exact phrases to use. The GPS function in the app maps out the entire trip with elapsed time and speed travel during the journey. Even though I enjoyed using my old Vantrue S1 for the past few years, I do like the added features of the S1 Pro much more. I did not hardwire the power source. Therefore, I cannot use the parking mode or have any insight on it. Perhaps, down the road, I may consider that option. In summary, I am very happy with my purchase of a great product and good value on a very nice front and rear dash camera system.

I installed this dash cam a couple of weeks ago and I can say that I'd definitely buy it again! Installation was very easy. The camera even comes with a plastic tool that you can use to hide wires around doors, etc. It took about 30 minutes to install in a Toyota Camry, including hiding all but literally about 4" of wire. The camera has a nice, bright screen and a menu system that's very easy to use. Even better, you can connect your phone to it via WiFi and use the Vantrue Cam app to do literally anything you need to do. It is the easiest way to modify settings. You can also view/download recordings via the app. The Windows application works nicely and displays your GPS location on a Google map. Image quality is as good as any dash cam I've seen. However, don't expect to read license plate numbers 4 car lengths ahead of you. A word of advice... if you see anything happen and think the video might be useful later, say outloud the license plate numbers of all vehicles involved. (I always have the camera configured to record audio.) Also, make sure you're using a fast memory card. You'll need U3/Class 10/A2 or faster. I learned this the hard way!

I have been a vantrue user since 2018. I started out only using the Vantrue N2 Pro and since I really like the quality of the picture inside and outside I decided to try the S1 4k front and rear camera in 2023. I really liked how clear the video was and how easy it was to see little details like license plates. One thing that I think is overlooked is the ability to identify a driver in an accident. For some people it may have occurred where a driver may claim someone else was driving to their insurance and a number of problems could arise. However with the quality and detail the video was able to capture, I avoided a headache and was able to claim 0% fault for an accident that the driver made very difficult to get resolved until I gave my insurance the video. After this incident I purchased 2 more S1 4k front and rear cameras and made sure all of our vehicles had them. As great as they have been, recently while driving, one of the cameras actually went completely black and refused to turn on or record. The sd card was fine I was able to access all the video before the camera failed but it was disappointing to have such a great camera fail. After some thoughts about whether or not to purchase another one, I decided to check what the warranty on the camera was and sure enough I was lucky enough to be 20 days from its expiration. I contacted the customer support and they were very easy to deal with. Most of the conversation was through email but I still believe it was handled in a timely fashion. The customer support gave me a few suggestions to try to see if the camera would reboot or reset however they were unsuccessful. Unfortunately the camera was discontinued but the person that was helping me was able to help me upgrade to the S1 Pro 2.7k with almost no additional cost. This camera has all the best features of the previous generation and now with the ability to view the video on your phone, has made it all the more impressive. I am very happy that the camera is now able to take a 512gb sd card. Too little memory was one of my biggest if not my only concerns with the previous generation. I have test the camera out for a little over a week and the quality as well as the clarity has not diminished but has really improved. It is a really convenient feature that I can download a video directly from the camera to my phone and to top it all the download/ transfer speed is very fast. I strongly recommend Vantrue dash cameras to my family and I plan to give a few to my relatives. Even if you have doubts I believe their warranty claims process was one of the easiest I have ever had to deal with. I strongly recommend the Vantrue S1 Pro but if this is not the camera for you I advise you check out their other cameras as well.

Bought2 of these for our new cars. Great cameras. Lots of features. Can be tricky/confusing in the menus. Too much going on there. I got tired of all the AI alerts and disabled them. Easy to install and get running. Very nice picture quality even at night. Be sure to get a high capacity SD card and I turned off all of the snapshots. It will fill you card quickly and if you're recording, you don't need snapshots.

This is by far one of the best dash cams I've ever had the pleasure of using. The construction quality feels solid there are definitely no cheap parts on this. I was a bit worried that the front camera would be loose or cheap since it is adjustable but it is very solid, stable and made out of metal. The outer ring around the camera is easily adjustable so you can tilt the camera to any angle which helps if you have to mount it off center or lower/higher than the image you want to record. The rear camera is also adjustable so you can angle it to see out the back at the correct angle. The control deck is made out of a very nice material that feels super premium and durable I love the feel of it! It is such a pleasure to use every time you need to go into the menu. The menu is fairly intuitive and has all the usual dash cam options. I turned the CPL filter (Circular Polarizer Lens Filter) on and kept it on it made the picture much nicer and super clear. The wireless features were nice, I personally don't stream to social media but the option is there if you want it. The GPS is highly accurate and you don't need a subscription which is ALWAYS a bonus! You do need a hardwire kit if you want parking mode (which captures even if the car is off) but that is pretty standard. I've had this for about two weeks now and really my only complaint is that it isn't a 4k camera so I had to take 1 star off for that but overall this is still a really nice camera. You get a rear camera as well, which IMO is an absolute must if you are getting a dashcam (you have just as much a chance of getting rear ended as t-boning another car). The kit comes with plenty of usb cable, not to mention a prybar tool so you can tuck the wire into your headliner and A pillar. It also comes with spare 3M stick pads in case you mess up but they are super sticky so once you place it it wont fall off due to heat or anything. Overall my favorite feature is the adjustable front facing camera It is really nice to be able to mount it anywhere and also have the camera adjustable without having to adjust the entire unit. Final thoughts: The price is excellent for what you get and the kind of features offered. It comes with everything you need to get going and is a very straight forward install with plenty of cable and a bonus Dash Cam sticker. And even with only a 2k front camera the picture quality is still ultra sharp and the CPL filter makes the image very clear and glare free. You should buy this camera!!!

I had this installed professionally and it has been fantastic. This dash camera system has performed exceptionally well. I have mine hardwired into the ignition, allowing it to activate automatically whenever the vehicle starts. Having both front and rear cameras provides significant peace of mind, as it continuously captures the activity of surrounding traffic. While I have already recorded several instances of erratic driving by others, fortunately, none of these incidents have impacted my vehicle. The image and video quality are very good; clear and easily accessible. The wireless connectivity feature is particularly convenient, as it allows for direct downloads to a smartphone. Additionally, the camera supports voice commands and a parking mode that triggers photo capture if the vehicle is disturbed while stationary.

I can’t say enough good things about the this dash cam and the brand in general. This will be the second product we’ve purchased from them (the other one is still going strong!). I was very pleased with how easily hide-able the cords were and how small the camera itself is. Installation really was extremely easy. They’re barely noticeable even though they give you a full picture of what’s happening around your vehicle at all times. I opted for getting the system hardwired in (Best Buy or any car accessory place will do this for a reasonable price) so kids don’t pull on the cord. The front and rear cameras capture everything clearly, even in tricky lighting, which is so reassuring when driving. It’s nice knowing that I can rely on crisp footage if anything were to happen. When I tested the wifi connection to transfer videos to my phone it was super quick and easy. The footage looks smooth too, even with fast-moving traffic, thanks to the 60FPS recording (you do need to select this option over to 50fps preset). The night vision works wonders – everything stays clear, no fuzzy footage after sunset, which several of the dash cams friends of mine purchased have a problem with. You can see how sharp it is even after dark in the photo. The remote live view is a game-changer. It’s so convenient being able to check on my car, whether I’m at home or out running errands. The GPS tagging is another awesome touch, and the voice control makes it super easy to adjust settings while I’m driving – no more fumbling with buttons. Plus, the on at all times parking mode gives me peace of mind knowing that the camera is still working even when I’m not around. I only have a 256gb storage card in, but I might upgrade to a 516 (which it can handle) so I don’t have to worry about running out of space anytime soon. We loved our older model, but the app is another standout feature that really enhances the overall experience. It’s intuitive so you can easily access and manage footage directly from your phone. You can quickly review videos, download clips, or even share them with just a few taps. Overall, the app really complements the dash cam and takes the entire experience to the next level. It’s great, though. High-quality, reliable, and packed with features that really make a difference. It’s a dash cam that goes above and beyond, and I feel so much safer having it in my car.

This works well on my 2025 Forester. The Forester's 3-camera driver assist system prevents me from mounting the dashcam directly behind the rear view mirror, so I had to mount it to the right side and a bit below the mirror instesd. However, the lens of the dashcam can be adjusted, so I simply turned it a bit to the left to get an even left/right coverage in its FOV. Nice! It takes a standard micro SD card, which you can read on a PC and is probably the fastest way to review and transfer video files from the camera (if you don't mind removing and putting back the ring card each time). You can also download it via the Android app but it is PAINFULLY SLOW, and good luck finding where it put it if you want to transfer it to your PC later (it gets put into an obscure path that many android file managers won't display by default). The good news is you can skop the app and set your preferences directly on the camera via its screen and buttons, and that works fine. It has a number of interesting "AI" features, like collison warning, pedestrian detection, and green light alert (vehicle in front pulls away), etc. These do work but you'll have to fiddle with the sensitivity to avoid false alarms or delayed alerts. I ultimately just disabled it. As a dash cam, it provides decent quality footage and images. You can make out license plates out to maybe two car lengths in average lighting.
