The neck wasn't threaded correctly when I initially tried it out, so it leaked quite a bit. Once all the parts were screwed together properly, it functioned perfectly. My two puppies are messy drinkers, so I put a rug under it in their crate. They have water when they need it, and it's easy to fill without having to uninstall it completely.

PERFECT Lixit Dispenser! I’m so glad I didn’t allow the reviews to deter me. I’ve purchased 3 of these already as they’re the perfect size and my dogs love them. I have Shih-Tzu and due to them being brachycephalic and having their flat face, they’re not supposed to drink from bowls due to risk of aspiration. We use Lixit’s and they actually drink a lot more water from this versus a fountain. My daughter has one of our puppies, so I bought her one as well. I recommend this to all the families that adopt one of my babies! I’ve got one on my dog’s crate and another on a stand. They’re durable and a great value for the money!

I got these for my puppies because they were both developing UTIs. they're crated while I'm at work and the person who takes care of them and takes them out noted that every time they put a water dish in the crates they would simply spill them and it was honestly causing the humidity in that room to get unbearable. They do leak at random. one of them was leaking continuously and I adjusted it and it did help but the second one just randomly started leaking at different intervals it's not an unbearable amount but there is dripping in the crate.

I LOVE the fact that the bottle opens from the top for an easy refill. However, it has a MAJOR flaw; the water comes out in a stream. I have repeatedly watched the rabbits drink from this bottle and the water runs down the side of their faces. This creates saturated hay that attracts bugs. I now have to clean out their hutches twice a day rather than once and it is costing me double in hay. Because the water is saturating the hay, it is sitting against the wooden parts of the hutch and that, too, is staying very wet. I did not experience the same issue with my Oxbow bottles that have the same features. I feed them twice a day, as well as refill their water bottles. Every time I have gone to care for them the water bottles are empty (This didn't happen with my former bottles), thus requiring me to check on them far more often. If you've ever run a farm, you know that your time and energy are already spread far too thin. Buyer Beware: This just goes to show that one gets what one pays for.

It’s called a rabbit water bottle but I needed a water source for my sheltie when she’s in the crate. It’s just enough for her to stay hydrated without stressing her bladder. It doesn’t leak…so important…and I can top it off without removing the whole kit every time. I do recommend proper cleaning every few days because germs do grow from licking the roller ball. Do pay attention to seating the top cap securely and tightly every time you fill up the bottle. Great value for keeping your pet safe and hydrated.

edit #2: after using these for 3 years, I felt it necessary to give an updated review. While I do like these, they do eventually end up leaking and the washers inside the nozzles get loose or damaged and prevent the water from stopping. The other problem is that their pour is very heavy, so it's a huge burst of water for a beak (I use them with my birds.) But the main problem is that they are made of plastic. Plastic is the least sanitary material to keep constant water supply in because it can scratch easily, form biodomes of bacteria or yeast on the inside, it's harder to clean and disinfect, can harbor bacteria, etc on the inside for a while and make the animal sick often. Birds are very suceptible to candida yeast and even a minor residual film can cause them to be ill. This is what I was dealing with and even though I do love this design I have to switch back to the glass bottles as they are overall better to keep clean and maintain for my birds' health. edit: I purchased the smaller sized one for my other parrot and I absolutely love it. He likes it very much too because it gives him a much stronger flow of water than the previous one I had. It is so easy to pull out of its holder and then clean and replace. I love that both bottles are flat on one side to sit flush against their enclosures. It doesn't matter what the bar spacing is, the bottles adapter fits with it. I'd love to see a glass version of this bottle but otherwise, I am so happy I switched to this brand. I love this 20oz water bottle. I hesitated before I got it because I'm used to the glass basic kind but decided to try it and I'm definitely keeping it. It is easy to install, holds tightly even on horizontal bars, detaches easily and sits firmly in its base. So far, my bird is not at all afraid of it. At first try, it does not leak and dispenses a good amount of water. I like the top-fill option as well! I might get the smaller 15oz one to see if the birds like it better but I'll definitely be switching my old, glass bottles to this brand. Well worth the money.

This thing works perfectly. Zero dripping! But at the same time, when my small dog touches the end of the water dispenser a good amount of water flows. I also love that it is filled from the top, so you do not have to frequently loosen and tighten the bottom of it… As such frequent loosening and tightening of the bottom seal will eventually cause it to wear out. I highly, highly recommend this product… especially considering that so many of the others (that I have tried) all leak.

The media could not be loaded. My dog uses this more than her water bowl . She loves it. I had bought it for while she was in her crate while I worked, but now she is house trained and no longer has to stay in her crate during the day. But she will go in her crate just to drink from it . I call it her stanley ;)
