I work from home in Texas, and it gets very hot towards the back of the house. I put this in the hallway, and man!! It moves air. It's awesome. It's a bit loud but with my headset being on 80% background reduction, everyone I asked said they could hear nothing in the background. So that's great cause the sound worried me. Everyone in the house loves it and is not bothered by the sound at all. It's really not bad on 1 and 2 settings and it blows crazy amounts of air. 3 is like a helicopter but it's still awesome and keeps every room cool ... show more

This is definitely a 5-star fan. Quality of materials and build for the price appears to be very sound - should hold up well for years. It moves a LOT of air! The fan itself is pretty quiet...but like a tornado or hurricane, it's all the wind it produces that is pretty noisey! The 3 speeds give you good control - high speed when you want max air movement, low when quietness is more important and medium for compromise between the 2. Okay - now the quibble. The fan itself comes completely assembled, you only have to assemble the stand. IMHO, the assembly instructions for the stand could be more detailed. ... show more

Was thrilled when this arrived but when discovered putting together discovered hole in base didn't permit screws provided to hold 2 pieces together. Screws are very short as well. It may have been great when they were first produced but this one had corners cut in quality that prevented structural integrity. No workshp to correct errors in design..BUT SHOULDN't NEED TO FIX A NEW FAN. ... show more
