  • Bravo UTG... Bravo!
Size: 8"-12" Color: Black
UTG is one of those companies that has come a long way, and made a huge effort to improve their products. While many a gun enthusiast would poo poo the name Leapers, when UTG rebranded they definitely added many new tools and tricks to their repertoire. Over the last couple of years, I've added several UTG and UTG Pro items to my firearms, mainly back up iron sights (don't overthink it, I say... they're just there as backups. If they work, they work), but I love the recon bipod I added to my SPR a month ago, and it just so happened I was in the market for a nice lockable bipod for a .308 precision gun. Install was easy, although the mount is a chonker, and takes 2 whole MLOK slots. no biggie, I wasn't using them for anything anyways. If you've attached MLOK before, you can figure it out. Fit and finish: The anodizing is thick, and durable. All of the other UTG products I own get their fair share of abuse, and none are really worse for wear. I suspect that the well done finish is what is making the bipod legs a bit tough to deploy, but it should wear in. There are also oil weep holes at both pivots, so it may become more pliable with a teensy bit of oil. Oil weep holes on the major pivot points that will see repeated opening and closing strikes me as superior attention to detail. It doesn't show it in the photos, but the back side of the extendable bipod legs have a notch for the latch every half inch, and the locking knobs are 1/4 turn and they're tight. They legs are not going to collapse unless you want them to. The pivot allows for around 10° of left to right cant, and rotates 360 degrees freely. Fully open, the lock is still a bit tight, so the bipod doesn't flop around and rattle, but it's easily manageable whether on the ground or by hand. The locking lever on mine was set from the factory at full lock at 90°, and it's exactly where it needs to be honestly. Full lock on the pivot lock is LOCKED in. I couldn't get the bipod to move out of position with my bare hands. I've fiddled with the occasional ATLAS bipod, and a couple of other carbon fibre bipods that cost 3-10x as much as this, and the pivot lock is definitely in the same category as solid. Time will tell if it begins to wear in, but it is also fully adjustable using just a torx wrench, so I can't imagine it'd be hard to tighten it up if it does. Again, this to me is another example of excellent attention to detail. UTG designed this with a purpose in mind, and they definitely did their due diligence. TL/DR: Excellent bipod, a ton of added value and user serviceability, and for less than 100$. While time will tell if it really is as solid as it feels, and if it can hang with the likes of top tier bipods, remains to be seen, I am confident that it will serve my needs perfectly, and maybe even exceed my expectation. ... show more

  • WOW - Not UTG of yesteryear !!
Size: 8"-12" Color: Black
UTG looking like the last place horse coming in for the win - CONGRATS you did this bipod right !!! Feeling like my At— at 1/3 of the price. Actually has a patent and the cam lock is on a ball which can be manipulated at any angle or degree and locks in solid. Very NICE & thought out - All METAL - picked up on a - used like new for 1/2 price which makes it even better. Don’t hesitate , this is a keeper and nice job UTG. Excellent for heavy LR bolt gun as it adds some weight to front. Impressed enough to write a review from the Midwest - Worth full price definitely - GLTA !! ... show more

  • Good bipod.
This is a great bipod with the exception of the MLok mounting block. They use aluminum t nuts which is pure ignorance. They came already tightened and were torqued so hard I had to use a pair of channel locks to loosen them as the screw heads stripped out. Luckily I have a set of steel t nuts and so I swapped them out and it mounted great. Other than that I love the bipod. It works very well and is made great. The adjustments are a nice touch. Not only to the legs adjust but the actually mounting bracket swivels so you can adjust the angle or the mount. Overall it’s a great product. I just suggest getting better t nuts. ... show more

  • Sturdy and adjustable
Size: 8"-12" Color: Black
This is my first bipod, but I considered many other brands, including Magpul, but this one won out. And I am happy to say I love it. Locks perfectly and easily and adjusts easily when I unlock it. Feel very study and well built. Just super functional and helpful for when I'm sighting in an optic or BUIS. Looks great too. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Decent, almost good
I like UTG. They do offer some decent stuff at a good price. This is a decent, light duty bipod. Maybe I was expecting more medium duty. The good: 45 degree angle leg option, springless, very good height range. The bad: Locking lever is never locked. A rifle can't preload on it. The pan/tilt becomes so loose that the bipod just flops around. That being said, an airsoft or lightweight rifle would probably be ok. Anything heavier, don't expect the locking lever to hold in place. ... show more

  • No springs, no noise, g2g
Size: 8"-12" Color: Black
Aluminum not plastic! Legs, tension knobs, mount, locking levers, all of it. No auto-retracting leg extensions or deploy/stow because there's no springs, but there's no spring noise. Legs lock into one of three angles with minimal wiggle, you get 0-45-90° locking positions. There are 7 positions for leg length. The mount takes up 2 mlok slots and locks tight with the locking lever. I was a little worried about buying this at first, but upon opening it, I was extremely pleased. This thing is solid, well built, and better than all of my more expensive bipods. Get it, you will not regret it. ... show more

  • Very well built. Impressive!
Size: 5.5"-7.0" Color: Black
Very well built. All aluminum, no plastic some others. This is solid and better than bigger name brands. It is slightly heavier than some due to the all metal construction but with that much more stable and durable. But it balances out my m4 nicely.
